Ladies and gentlemen I was born here in the Pacific Northwest in beautiful Seattle, Washington. Yes it rains a lot but it is still a beautiful city. When the sun is out you cannot beat our city.
But things are really changing in my city. The traffic is some of the worse in the US. The price of apartments is SKY HIGH!! And I mean SKY HIGH!! A one bedroom averaging around $2,100!! This is crazy but it is real sorry to say.
When the Section 8 program opens up for it’s lottery THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of people apply.
I grew up in the Central Area (or the CD..Central District)) of Seattle. It used to be a African American area. Full of places to have a good soul food dinner. Places like Mrs. Helens, Oscars, Thompson’s, Deano’s. Or a great hamburger and fries at the Doll House or Sammy’s or a little further out at “The Rose Patel” Places to play pool and have a drink and play darts and dance and play dominos among other African Americans. Thank god Ezells is still around!!
We had mom and pops stores like Jordans to buy a pop or chips or Richlens. We also had Joes owned by the late Joe and Mea. Two very nice Asians. There were like family to me just like Mr. and Mrs. Jordan who are still with us in the 90′s. We had IGA Grocery store and Madrona Pharmacy.
I can walk down 23rd and East Union and East Madison and East Jackson and East Yesler and see others who look like me. It was a community. We felt relaxed being among our own. During the summer Madrona Schools basketball courts were full with cats waiting to be on the court to hoop. Even across the street at the full court, it was packed. Just like at the covered court on Yesler. We had the Mardi Gras Parade and had thousands of black folks at Judkins Park for the festival. Their was huge ferris wheels and kids rides etc.
But readers starting about 10 or so year ago things started to change in a very rapid way. What happened was a word called gentrification. Other words property taxes in the Central Area started to jump up very very quickly. To the point where African Americans who have had their homes in the CD for decades could no longer pay their their taxes and other things to help keep their homes. And the make up and diversity of the CD changed. And changed big time.
The diversity of the neighborhood I grew up in was going down the tubes. To me readers it makes me very very sad. What has happened is simple. Whites who could effort to buy houses and pay the sky high rents in the CD moved in, African Americans who sorry to say could not pay to stay in the CD had no choice but to sell their homes and move to Kent or Burien or even Tacoma where rent is much cheaper and property taxes are much lower. And apartment prices were lower too.
The Central Area has turned into “yuppie land”. I work as a Adult School Guard for the Seattle Public Schools for Madrona on 34th and East Union in the CD. I grew up 4 blocks down the street on 30th and East Spring. I went to Madrona School as a kid.
It is tremendously sad that every day when I come home, I have to sit down and decompress because I do not hardly see any black faces in the neighborhood I grew up in…the Madrona area. Basically all I see is white upper middle class white faces. Who have no African American friends and no sense of our culture and no knowledge of the history of the Central Area. They do not realize that the CD in 1970 was over 73% African American. Now it is only 19%. And going down.
Here in Black History Month it is sad to see my neighborhood turn into almost like Beverly Hills. With plenty of expensive Volvos and Mercedes and BMWs and Audi’s etc going up and down the streets of the Central District. Sad.
The changes that has happened to Seattle’s CD has happened in other major cities but that will not stop me for feeling hurt about seeing the area I grew up in completely and utterly change. Folks who work at Amazon and Microsoft at high paying positions have moved into the new apartments and townhomes that have been build in the CD. Soon Red Apple store on East Jackson will be no more. This will hurt me DEEPLY! The place where Richlen’s used to be on 23rd is longer there.
Shout out to Wyking Garrett for trying to keep our culture and businesses in the Central Area. Despite the fact that Wyking does not respect me and my VERY VERY hard work with my media since 1990, I respect his grind to help the African American community. Real talk.
I will be back soon with more thoughts on the gentrification of Seattle’s Central Area.
I have been holding back on this story for awhile now but I can no longer keep this inside of me readers. I am asking the question is their racism going on in red carpet coverage of Los Angeles events such as the Grammys, Clive Davis Pre Grammy Party and more.
Have to ask this question.I started “Music Inner City Television” in 1990. I started applying for red carpet coverage of the Grammys six years later. I got denied again this year for red carpet coverage for the Grammys. This is 20 years in row I have been rejected. The last few years by Roger and Cowans in Los Angeles is the organization that takes care of who is on the carpet.
My program is one of the longest running entertainment/interview program in the industry. On the air for 26 years. In my opinion this should not happen to a program like mine. It should not. But it is happening for my programs and audience on television and worldwide online.
It is very sad that I continue to obtain the same two paragraphs every year in my decline letter. Telling me about they can only place a fraction of the requests on the red carpet for short interviews with entertainers. And the event has a very low amount of space for folks wanting to be on the red carpet. The same two paragraphs EVERY YEAR FOR TWO DECADES!!
Yes I realize that events like the Grammys and AMAs and Clive Davis get applications from the United States, Canada, Mexico from all over the all over the world. I am not stupid. I have been in the entertainment business for 26 years.
It is just my feelings that my programs (Music Inner City TV and Sports Inner City TV) have served it dues, for sure MIC-TV has ladies and gentlemen. The Seattle/Tacoma/Everett area is the 14th largest radio-tv market in the United States. Having said that Comcast-Xfiinity On-Demand and Xfinity X1 has allowed me to air my programs not in just in the Seattle area and Western Washington. But in many other markets.
We also air 24-7 in Eastern Washington that includes Pasco, Kennewick, Yakima, Spokane. Place we broadcast in Portland, Oregon and in the Eugene-Springfield area in Oregon. We also broadcast in Merced, Modesto, Sacramento, Stockton, Fresno, the Bay Area of San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose and Richmond. And into Santa Barbara and Culver City and all cities in between in California, Oregon and Washington State. All west coast markets.
In other words, not trying to brag but my outlets are no joke. But I guess the Grammys etc take me and my audience as a joke. A public access program. We are not a public access program folks. I strongly feel we should be allowed to cover events like the Grammys and Clive Davis.
Finally I have to say this. When I am lucky enough to be on the carpet in L.A./Hollywood at a event, I take a look around and see very few African American ran media on the red carpet. The question is why? Are they being rejected for coverage year after year like yours truly? I would like the answer. I really would.
Feeling very very frustrated? That is me. Angry? That is me. Kind of depressed? That is me. All I can do is apply. Guess their is nothing else I can do. And sit back and continue to get the same two paragraphs year after year rejecting me.
To be truthful with you I really do not watch late night tv talk shows on NBC, ABC and CBS. I really miss “The Arsenio Hall Show”, the 1st one and the second one which by the way one stayed on TV one year. Mainly in my opinion because it was not promoted like Conan and other programs.
Arsenio always gave hip-hop-r&b acts a stage to perform. Like the late 2pac and Public Enemy and the late Eazy E and High 5 and Snoop Dogg and the late Whitney Houston and New Edition and many many more. And gave veteran acts too a stage to perform too like the late Sammy Davis Jr and the late Prince and Patti LeBelle and many others.
The late night talk shows just do not have the African American guests and artists like Arsenio did. But when I am online, I once in awhile read comments that “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert has made about race in America. And I liked what he said.
Recently he made some comments about the racial tensions in Charlotte after the killing of Kieth Lamont Scott by cops in the city. He said “The shooting of African Americans by police officers and the community outrage that follows seems to keep happening over and over again, no matter how many times we do nothing”
He went on to say ” I wish there were some kind of respectful, silent civil protest that could engage in that wouldn’t enrage the other side,” And he also Colbert said “In face of continued heartbreaking racial strife, all eyes turn to civil rights icon, the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Trump.” He went on to say more. You can find it on You Tube.
Good thoughts from Colbert about the racial tensions in America ladies and gentlemen. If you did not know, “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon caught hell because of his lightweight so called interview with Trump. No tough questions what so ever. He asked to test his hair etc on the show. Give me a break Fallon!!
We need more celebrities like Stephen Colbert to speak out. Bruce Springsteen ALWAYS speaks out about racism in America. That is why I really like the dude. Unlike the clown Kid Rock! Who has constantly blasted President Obama and recently blasted 49er QB Colin Kaepernick.
Shout out to Stephen Colbert. He seems like a great fella who realizes there are great problems right now in America between African Americans and white Americans. It is sad to say but it is a fact.

About nine years ago I heard about this man named Barack Obama. We was coming to speak at Garfield High School here in Seattle. I heard he was was a dynamic speaker and is making a name for himself in Washington D.C.
To my surprise the Garfield gym was packed to the gills with people. It was a summer day in Seattle. It was so packed, that a few people passed out and had to be helped out. Anyway this guy, Sen. Barack Obama gave a speech that was like a African American preacher in a inner city church. It was great. It was uplifting. It was dynamic. It was Sen. Barack Obama.
Soon after that, Sen. Obama announced that he would run to be the first African American president in U.S. history. Before he announced he was running, I had really never followed politics that much. I did but not like I did when Sen. Obama announced he was running to be President.
When ever he gave a speech out on the campaign road that was on CNN or MSNBC or C-Span I was watching! I did not miss a speech. I just had never thought I would see a African American man doing this well in a run to become President. Of course, the Rev. Jesse Jackson and the Rev. Al Sharpton ran for President but this is not a put down of them but we all knew they could not win.
This time with Sen. Obama, the polls showed that he could become President Of The United States!! The campaign moved on and Sen. Obama got stronger and stronger in the approval ratings. The debates happened and he did great. It was shocking that Sen. Obama would defeat Sen. McCain and become PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!! I would never EVER EVER EVER thought I would see a African American President. It was a unreal folks.
When Sen. Obama became President Obama that election night, I cried ladies and gentlemen. I cried. It was a night I will never forget. A African American President Of The United States in President Barack Obama.
Michelle Obama is first class role model for young African American girls. First Lady Obama is a role model is role model for ALL young girls of any color! She is just great! When the President and Michelle depart the White House both of them are going to do so much. Speaking, writing books and so much more. They will be in high demand and that is for sure.
The speech she gave the other when she put Trump on blast was one the greatest speeches I have ever heard. It was just great. President Obama also knew that speech was great.
I will be typing more stories on my feelings about President Obama and the First Lady Michelle Obama. One thing I will say right now, I am going to miss both of them as my President and my First Lady.
Cathy Hughes is a African American entrepreneur, radio and TV personality and business executive. Hughes founded the media company called Radio One and started TV One.
The company went public in 1998, making Cathy the first and only African American woman to head a publicity traded corporation at the time. She is for sure a trailblazer who has helped put African American owned media on the map.
In the 70′s, Hughes created the urban radio format called “The Quiet Storm” on Howard University’s radio station WHUR, with it’s very first DJ she decided on the late Melvin Lindsey. Before radio, Hughes worked for a African American newspaper called “The Omaha Star” Hughes started her career in 1969 at KOWH in Omaha, but then left for job in Washington D.C.
In 1973, Hughes became the General Sales Manager of Howard University’s radio station WHUR-FM and helped to increase station revenue from $250,000 to $3 million in it’s first year!!
Soon in 1975, Cathy became the first woman Vice President and GM of a station in the nation’s capital. In 1980, Hughes founded Radio One, and with former husband Dewey Hughes, bought WOL-AM 1450 in D.C. After the previous employees had destroyed the facility, she faced financial problems and soon lost her home and moved with her young son to live at the station.
Cathy Hughes fortunes started to change when revamped the r&b station to a 24-7 talk radio format with the theme “Information Is Power” Hughes served as the stations morning show host for 11 years. WOL is still the most listed to talk radio station in D.C.
Radio One went on to own 70 radio stations in nine major markets in the U.S. As of 2007, Hughes son Alfred Liggins serves as CEO and president of Radio One and Hughes as chairperson.
In January 2004, Cathy started TV One, a national cable and satellite TV network which bills itself as the “lifestyle and entertainment network for African American adults”. Both Cathy and her son have been named Entrepreneur of the Year by the company Ernst & Young. In 2015, a local business organization unofficially named the corner of 4th Street and H Street NE in Washington D.C. “Cathy Hughes Corner”
I have a lot of respect for Cathy Hughes. She is a strong lady in a man dominated field. She is bringing to the table something that is needed in media and that is diversity. Diversity is badly needed in radio and tv. For instance here in Seattle, there is ONE African American true news reporter in our area in Essix Porter on KIRO-TV. On radio in a market where Ms. Hughes does not have a station, there is barely a regular African American voice on radio.
One of my favorite programs is a program called “Unsung” on TV One. I never miss it. “Unsung” and “Shark Tank” (not on TV One) are my favorite programs on TV. So I hope Ms Hughes and TV One would open a new radio station here in Seattle with a strong signal. That would be great. I hope you will support TV One and Radio One. A TRUE African American owned and operated media company.
“Music Inner City TV” internet only webcast. Topics include what is wrong with Lebron James and Sean “Diddy” Combs opening up a school in Harlem. A spinoff of “Music Inner City/Sports Inner City TV”:Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand.
I am always looking for stories for my websites and I saw this story to write about here on “Music Inner City News Magazine” It is a rumor that Beyonce and Rihanna are having a so called “beef”
Word is Beyonce was due to drop her new song song “Formation”, days before Rihanna’s new release “ANTI”, but Rihanna dropped her new release like it was due to be dropped. So there is word out and about that Beyonce has tried to outshine Rihanna.
Recently Rihanna did a interview with Vogue and she addressed the ongoing talk about her rivalry with Beyonce. She said “Here’s the deal, people just get excited to feast on something that’s negative. Something that’s competitive. Something that’s, you know, a rivalry. And that’s just not what I wake up to. Because I can only do me. And nobody else is going to be able to do that.”
I agree with Rihanna. The media is looking for a beef. Just because Ri is signed to Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z’s label and this release stuff happened the media saying wow what is really going on. When in reality most likely nothing is going on.
As a fan of good music, I do not give a damn who release was out first or not. Who gives a damn ladies and gentlemen? Both of ladies are very very talented as we all know. At times I really worry about Rihanna. It seems she is confused. At times she seems to be really out there mentally with some of stuff she says and some of outfits she wears. Just like Miley Cyrus.
And word is her career is suffering right now. Because it is a fact, her sales of her music is down. Unlike Adele or Taylor Swift. People are asking what is wrong with Rihanna. Well let’s see what the future holds. Ri is younger than B. I will be listening and watching what is really going on with Rihanna. Because I am not worried about Beyonce. She will always stand above the rest in book.
First of all I want to thank you for your support in coming here to “M.I.C News Magazine”. If you know me I am not afraid to voice my views on certain topics that bother me. Others are scared. I am not ladies and gentlemen.
One of the things I want to voice my concerns about is the Oscars. For two years in a row the Oscars has a grand total of zero African American nominees. Let me repeat. Zero nominees. How on earth can this happen two years in row? What is Hollywood thinking?
This is a severe problem that needs to be changed right now. Not next week or next month. Now.
I truly think Chris Rock should have stepped down and not host the Oscars this years. He should have taken a strong stand to tell the Oscars he would not be used. Many others asked Rock to step down but he did not.
Of course some will not attend the Oscar ceremony because of the total lack of diversity. People like Jada and Will Smith, director Spike Lee and others will stay home. I do not think they will even watch just like I refuse to do. I think African Americans just not watch the Oscars on TV to take a strong stand. Also do not support businesses who runs advertisements on the telecast.
Rock has called Hollywood “a white industry” in 2014. And he is telling the truth. I do not care how many African American presenters will be handing out Oscars because none of people obtaining Oscars will be African American. Give me a break readers.
I watched local TV outlet KOMO last night, a outlet that broadcasts the Oscars, and the news hosts say they could not wait for the Oscars well that’s their feelings because it is not mine and many others who feel the lack of African American nominees for two years in a row is a flat out severe problem. How can they say that readers?
Myself and many others will not be watching the Oscars. I am going to watch the red carpet interviews on E Online with Ryan Seacrest to see how many African Americans Ryan will interview. Then I will watch what Rock will say about the huge diversity problem at the start of the program then I am getting my remote and turn the Oscars off. If you feel the way I do, I hope you why not or did not watch the Oscars. It is time for Hollywood to wake up!!
February is Black History Month if you did not know. A month we African Americans celebrate our history in America.
There are so many historical African Americans to write about here in entertainment, politics or sports. Here on “M.I.C News Magazine” I want to give props to what some people say the best actor alive today, Denzel Washington.
Washington has received three Golden Globes, two Tony Awards, and two Oscars for Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor.
Truth be told he should have won a freakin Oscar and Golden Globe Award for Malcolm X in 1992. Anyone who saw that movie should know I am telling the truth. I have watched that movie maybe twenty times over the years. He nailed Malcolm X. It was unreal that he did not win a Oscar and some say it was because of the person he played in the movie and the Academy did not want to “glorify” a person certain folks did not like.
Denzel is a role model all young people should look up to and for sure young African American kids. He is one of only a few African American leading men in Hollywood sorry to say. Himself, Will Smith and a few others.
He also does work in the theater from time to time. In 2014 Washington played the leading role in a Broadway play of Lorraine Hansberry’s classic “A Raisin In The Sun”. The play won a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. He has shown all though his career that he can handle any kind of role that he decides to do. He is just a great great actor. Pure and simple.
Also Denzel gives back by being a national spokesperson for “Boys & Girls Clubs Of America” since 1993 and is a board member for the organization since 1995. I am sure you have seen Washington and public service commercials he does for the Boys and Girls Club on TV.
Be sure to read the full bio of Denzel on the link above. A Black History Month salute from “Music Inner City News Magazine” to Denzel Washington. Gordon Curvey
The last few months things have been falling in place for hopefully to finally make some good money with my media business. God willing that is.
First of all being allowed to cover the 2015 American Music Awards in Los Angeles on the red carpet was a major move. Then I find out that their are people really watching “Music Inner City TV” and soon hopefully “Sports Inner City TV” on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand. And a few other things have fell in place too like having my sports program expanding from online to television!! Another dream come true. But a few days ago I obtained some HUGE HUGE news while discussing my yearly contract with Comcast.
Because of my viewership I was asked if I would like to expand my programs into all of Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand West Coast area!! I said HELL YES!! Keep in mind, since I started “Music Inner City TV” my program was aired just in Western Washington state from Bellingham to the Kels0-Longview area, Centralia, Washington area and over to the coast of Washington. But in a few weeks THAT IS ABOUT TO CHANGE!!
Now “Music Inner City TV” and “Sports Inner City TV” will be on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand in of course Western Washington state, but now we will be seen in Spokane, Washington, Portland, Oregon, Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, Chico-Redding, California, Sacramento, Martinez, the Bay Area that includes San Fransisco, Oakland and San Jose, Salinas, Fresno, Roseville, Stockton and Santa Barbara all of course in California!! Plus Culver City, Nevada. THIS IS HUGE NEWS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!
All programs stream online for non Comcast subscribers 15 days after airing on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand at www.musicinnercity.com More commercial time added on all online webcasts!!
I am very very happy about this move to Spokane and into Oregon and California. So now I have work to do. I have to promote “M.I.C-TV/S.I.C-TV” in new television markets we will be broadcasting in. I have a good friend in the Bay Area who is willing to join my team to help promote in San Fransisco/Oakland/San Jose area. Starting as soon as my obtain a date we will start and where viewers can find our programs in the new markets, I will be making calls to promote in the new markets. Plus of course using social media and ways to get the word out.
Here is the thing readers. Do you know what has made my program popular over years? It is we provide entertainment via music videos and exclusive interviews that is hard to find on You Tube, VH1, Revolt, Fuse and more. Plus when it comes to sports we touch a niche that is NEEDED VERY BADLY. And that is covering African Americans and people of color in the sports world. Bringing issue to the table that the “majority” media ie sports radio, ESPN, Fox Sports etc are afraid or will not touch. These are facts. For my 25 years of broadcasting I have always mixed music and sports.
So starting soon we will have to not just cover our Seahawks and Mariners and UW etc and other Seattle area sports but we have to throw in coverage of the Golden State Warriors, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trailblazers, San Jose Sharks, SF 49ers, Oakland Raiders (if they do not move to L.A) and other sports teams.
As always all ALL “M.I.C-TV-S.I.C-TV” programs will be streamed online for those you who do not have Comcast-Xfinity On Demand and who stay outside of the Comcast west coast coverage area. Plus we can run more advertising ie commercials on our online webcasts. And don’t forget we also broadcast “Music Inner City Radio” podcasts at “Music Inner City News Magazine” www.musicinnercity.com where we can run MANY MORE ADVERTISING COMMERCIALS. Plus we will have “Sports Inner City Radio” podcasts that will air on our sports ONLY website “Sports Inner City Online” at www.sportsinnercity.com Covering people of color in the sports world PLUS playing classic soul/hip-hop music.
Oh yeah on our new “Sports Inner City TV” programs, we will also play hip-hop and r&b and pop music videos just like we have done on “M.I.C-TV” for 25 years!! So their is one thing that is very very important. We are the ONLY locally produced African American owned business of it’s type running on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand on the west coast. THE ONLY ONE!!
Hopefully it is time for artists, promoters and business owners to come to our table to do business. Get your brand or what you do seen not only in the Seattle-Tacoma-Everett and Western Washington area but now in the Spokane area plus Oregon and California markets!! Plus worldwide via the internet on our websites where we get a lot of traffic from all over the world!!
I will back here on “M.I.C News Magazine” for a starting date for our programs starting in our new markets very soon. A big THANK YOU to Comcast-Xfinity for allowing this big move to happen. Call us now at 206-445-3989 or email us at email@example.com to start promoting on our platforms. We can also be reached on Facebook at www.facebook.com/gordon.curvey or via Twitter at www.twitter.com/gcurvey

Music Inner City News Magazine BREAKING NEWS: Will Smith has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his role in the new movie “Concussion”. GREAT NEWS!!
When this fella first come on the scene as rapper some said the music he made with DJ Jazzy Jeff was should I say “corny”. One of DJ Jazzy Jeff’s big early hits was “Parents Just Don’t Understand” for goodness sake.
But that song really put Will Smith on the map. And he has not looked back. You could see how talented the dude was in the early music videos of DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. You could tell then bigger things was in store for Will. And man bigger things did happen. With his TV show called “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” in 1990 he was on his way to super stardom and that was a fact.
“Fresh Prince” was a big hit from 1990 to 1996. Will started to branch off from the TV show starting a year or so before “Fresh Prince” ended in 1996. By the way reruns of the “Fresh Prince” are running everywhere and every day. Keeping money in the pockets of the other performers on the show for sure.
Smith is one only a few “marketable” African American male actors in Hollywood along with Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman, Forest Whitaker and a few others. Most of Smith’s movies make big money but of course a few of them did not do well in the theaters. But that’s Hollywood. Every once in awhile a movie with high expectations will not do well money wise.
But Smith’s new movie called “Concussion” has a lot of people saying “Oscar” when it comes to Will Smith. That would be great to see Will finally getting a Oscar. Because he is a very good actor. Of course their are problems in Hollywood when it comes to African Americans not getting nominated of Oscars and Golden Globes and Emmys and SAG Awards. Don’t believe me? Well look at the nomination list for the SAG Awards that are coming up soon and the Golden Globes.
So ladies and gentlemen do not be surprised if Will does not get a Oscar nomination. Because it is Hollywood and it has a history of looking over powerful performances by black actors in movies. Sorry to say this but it is very true. Gordon Curvey

I do not know how you feel about talk show host Wendy Williams but I have some strong opinions. I first heard about Wendy when she and the late great icon Whitney Houston had a tremendous fall out over the air on the radio in New York where Williams was a huge radio dj. That is how she made her name. Blasting folks over the air on NY radio.
You can You Tube the fight between Williams and Whitney. It got real deep. Because Whitney had “the street” in her and truth be told it never left her all the way to her untimely death. So Whitney stood up to Wendy. She was not having it at all. That is for sure.
So if you watch Wendy’s show on TV you know she does not have a problem of going in on folks. I am very surprised no one has confronted Wendy more often over the years like the late great Whitney did. I am shocked. I mean Williams calls folks names and every thing. From Chris Brown to Donald Trump or from 50 Cent to Taylor Swift or Kanye West. It does not matter to her.
Now her latest blast is against actor Terrence Howard who is currently starring in the hit TV show “Empire” which I refuse to support by viewing it because it is on Fox owned by Rupert Murdoch who allows Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly and others put President Obama on full blast EVERYDAY since the President has been in office. This is real talk. I refuse to give Fox my support.
But guess what folks? When it comes to Terrence Howard I agree with Wendy. Please read the article above and for more information on Howard attacking ladies please Google it and a lot of information will pop up. Readers I DO NOT AGREE WITH A MAN HITTING A LADY FOR ANY REASON!! And Howard has admitted hitting females.
THIS IS WRONG WRONG WRONG and I agree with Williams and maybe Terrence should not be employed on the hit program “Empire” and should enter a program to help him with his temper. Until he does that, he should not be employed on any TV show or any movie role!!!
I think EVERYONE should do what I am doing and not watch “Empire”because you are supporting a business that is owned by a person who has a entire TV network that has been against President Obama in every way possible for seven years let by Hannity and O’Reilly. It has happened on a every day basis. Please try to understand what I am saying readers. Thanks.

BREAKING NEWS: “Music Inner City TV” will be in the building when President Obama comes to Seattle to support Sen. Patty Murray. We will covering the arrival and departure of Air Force One here in Seattle. Video will be seen soon on Seattle, Washington based “M.I.C-TV”!!
I am here in my home town of Seattle, Washington. I have been in or near the Central Area my entire time on this earth. The Central Area used to be the African American community. But sorry to say not anymore. It is not the same Central Area anymore.
This word..gentrification has hit my town just like it has hit other major cities. Whites have moved in and African Americans have moved out.
To me it is truly sad and depressing. The area I grew up in is no longer the same. When I came into the Central Area I see plenty of white folks walking their dogs. Some two to three dogs at a time.
African American owned businesses like Mrs. Helen’s, Thompson’s Point Of View, Oscars, Deano’s, Sammy’s, Jordan’s and more are gone.
No place in the Central Area for black folks to hang out and play pool and have a drink and watch the fight or dance etc. Things are much much different.
Some say the gentrification of the Central Area here in Seattle was planned. Bring up property taxes to the point where many African Americans cannot pay the taxes and there goes their homes and white folks move in. Now big townhouses and apartments are being built in the Central Area where only a person working at Microsoft can afford to stay their!! The rent will be SKY HIGH!!
Folks another thing is going on here in Seattle and in the US. There is another side to the financial situation. And that is African Americans have a 1 TRILLION dollars of buying power. Yes many of us cannot afford to pay our taxes etc. But then again it seems we want to invest the money we do make in new cars we cannot afford. Expensive Jordan’s sneakers, extensions and other new things.
BUT it seems Vietnamese and now East Africans are opening up new businesses in the Central Area selling EVERYTHING!! And African Americans seem to open up another church or bar be cue place or beauty shop. We seem not to want to open a variety of places like the Asians and now East Africans. I wonder like others where does our 1 trillion dollars of black power is going?
Here in Seattle, on MLK Way South and also Rainier Ave South in the Rainier Valley you can start on East Jackson St. and drive to South Henderson and see very few African American owned businesses. You will see mall after mall after mall full of Asian and now East African owned businesses and ZERO malls full of African American owned businesses. It is just amazing folks.
And the few African American owned businesses we have in the area it seems African Americans do not support them as we should. Ladies and gentleman this is a HUGE problem in my opinion and many others.
New “Music Inner City Radio” program now right here on “M.I.C News Magazine” Entertainment news and classic soul/hip-hop music and much more!
You have to check out the new hot music video on “M.I.C-TV” with guest Wyking/Comcast-Xfinity On Demand/”get local and then “around the sound”/24-7/Western Washington State.
The video “Red Hot Remix” released by Tyrone by Jahdan Blakkamoore is from Babylon’s Nightmare album. The song talks about the ills of growing up in the ghetto and how poverty affects children.
Jahdan Blakkamoore has long made a name for himself as a gifted and inspiring Reggae/Dancehall/Hip Hop/Dubstep artist-both nationally and internationally. Jahdan’s sense of melody, superb song writing skills and ability to effortlessly cross genres has solidified his status as a relevant artist in the music industry.
The video depicts the life of three ghetto or inner city youths as they travel though the projects and contemplate their fate.
The cinematography drives home the point as Tyrone produces the background music on his “sound system”; blending the accapella of Jahdan’s vocals with a menacing beat and bass line. The Tyrone directed video provides the perfect visual of the soundtrack. Visit www.tyronesmusic.com to download this song and others!!
Webcast SOON on “Music Inner City News Magazine” with the music video and guest community activist Wyking! Thanks for the support of Tyrone!!
Readers at first when it came to William H. Cosby Jr aka Bill Cosby, I was riding the fence when it came to all these ladies coming out against Mr. Cosby. Most after 30 to 45 years of saying nothing.
I was saying why did these females say nothing for decades and then all of a sudden when a basically unknown comic made a comment or joke during his stage act regarding Cosby and past stories about rape charges against him, lady after lady came out the woodwork saying Cosby raped them after he allegedly give them a pill. From former supermodels Beverly Johnson and Janice Dickerson to many others.
Some famous people like Whoopi Goldberg and former guest on my program “Music Inner City TV” singer Jill Scott stood behind and supported Mr. Cosby until recently when new information has been released to the public by first the NY Times and now CNN. The news is flat out devastating against Cosby.
It shows and tells us that Bill Cosby lied to us. He had us fooled. We loved Fat Albert and loved the movies he made with the legendary Sidney Poitier and his various TV shows like “I Spy” for which he won a Emmy and of course..”Cosby” Where he played “America’s dad” Cliff Huxtable for years on TV. He had all of us fooled readers. And I am upset at Bill Cosby for fooling me and millions of others who looked up to him.
Bill Cosby was having sex or near sex with plenty of ladies behind his lady Camille Cosby’s back. But then again Mrs. Cosby may have known about her husbands cheating ways and STILL stayed with him. Well readers maybe we know why. MONEY MONEY MONEY for which Bill Cosby has plenty of. Mr. Cosby is worth a reported $400 to $500 million.
Because I think most females would have left a man who was cheating all over the damn place. Did Mrs. Cosby see $$ signs? But wait a minute. If she left Bill Cosby she would have got millions and millions from her husband in a divorce settlement. This is a fact!!
A few weeks ago I hear a comedy routine from a young Bill Cosby in which he told a so called joke about giving a pill to a lady and then the lady was ready to get busy if you know what I mean. Then I also saw a interview with Cosby from the early 90′s in which he ADMITTED to a affair with a lady behind Camille’s back. BUT Mrs. Cosby STILL stayed with him. The question is why?
This story has got real real ugly for Bill Cosby at age 78. Concerts have been cancelled, “Cosby” reruns have been removed from TV and his great reputation he earned since the 60′s has gone completely downhill. This is sad. But I have to say this.
This dude who played Cosby’s son in law on “Cosby” His name is Joseph C. Phillips.(pic) He has turned into a conservative motor mouth. I have seen him on Hannity’s show on Fox News putting down President Barack Obama. He has recently come out and said “Cosby should go away” and more. THIS DUDE HAS HIS FREAKIN NERVE!! Not trying to take up for the cheating monster Bill Cosby..BUT I am supporting Mr. Cosby on this point when it comes to Mr. Phillips.
Yo Phillips Mr. Cosby hired your ass and you made thousands and thousand of $$ for your part on “Cosby” He may have “fooled” you like he has fooled us but I strongly feel you should have kept your feelings to yourself instead of blasting a man who paid you big time and put your name in the public eye. This is real talk. Some of you may disagree. This is how I feel folks.
Finally I think the elegant and beautiful Mrs. Camille Cosby should leave the cheatin ass Bill Cosby!! He has played SERIOUS games for decades behind her back. Mrs. Cosby has come out recently and said these ladies who have came out against her husband knew what was going on and played along with Cosby. Wow Camille!! Come on now.
Quaaludes was the pill Cosby ADMITTED in 2005 he gave to females to have sexual relations. That ALONE is reason enough for the dignified Mrs. Camille Cosby to pack up and leave Bill Cosby. This is my opinion. More to come right here on “Music Inner City News Magazine”

I was born and brought up here in Seattle’s Central Area or Central District or what a lot of us call the CD. My mother still has a house on 30th and East Spring St. My mom bought the house in 1957. It was bought for around $7,000 and now it is worth more than $800,000. Amazing right?
If you know me I speak up on issues that others are afraid or just refuses to touch. The changing of the CD here in Seattle bothers the hell out of me. I really does readers. And others it seems have picked up on this issue too. Because their has been numerous articles lately on the topic of how African Americans have been forced out of the Central District.
The latest article on the changing CD is in the Seattle Times and it is a good article. To be truthful readers all the articles about how whites have taken over the community I grew up in really bothers me. I am a school crossing guard on 34th and East Union here in Seattle and it is truly sad that I hardly see any African Americans when I am on my shift. Very few.
This is in a community keep in mind that was 70% African American just a few years ago. Because of HUGE property tax increases in the Central District African Americans have been forced out of the community and whites saw the opportunity to pack up from their homes in Ballard and Mercer Island and elsewhere and move to homes they can pay for in the community I grew up in…the CD.
In the Seattle Times article the long time CD resident said that white folks have moved in the Central District and do not speak to African Americans etc. Basically they hang to themselves. That is TRUE. BUT readers check this out as a school crossing guard on 34th and East Union, I catch it from BOTH ANGLES.
The angles are this. A lot of white folks pass right by me and have a mean look on their face. So I do not say anything to them like ‘Good morning” Then sometimes I will go out my way and speak to them…then they will speak. Most of the time just barely. On the other side of the coin. A lot of African Americans do not speak too!! And they have a angry and mean look on their face too. Here is a question. Why is this? You see I am a nice person. When I walk out my door I leave all my so called problems at home and put a smile on my face.
So in Seattle’s CD, there is unfriendly white folks AND the few African Americans I a lot of them look angry and unfriendly. Things was just NOT this way in the CD a few years ago. People were more friendly and we spoke to one another. There was places African Americans can go hang out and have a beer or play some pool or dominos like Thompson’s and Oscars and Deano’s and have great soul food with Mrs. Helens and a great hamburger and fries at Sammy’s and The Doll House. Or go buy a sports book or the latest Ebony Mag or get your medicine at Jordan’s.
Things ain’t the same anymore. The CD has turned into yuppie land with white folks walking there dogs all over the cd the area and folks driving very expensive Volvo’s and Mercedes and Audi’s and etc up and down the streets of the Central District. It is just very very strange readers to a fella who grew up on 30th and East Spring St. When you pass by Powell Barnett Park you mostly see white parents and their kids playing.
I have had white folks sit and stare at me while they are sitting on a bench on 34th and East Union. Like they are looking at a alien from Mars or Jupiter instead of a black man doing his freakin job!! It is just amazing readers. Like the lady said in the Times article “The Central District is not the same” It makes her sad and me too.
As a person who loves music. All types of music, though the years of producing “Music Inner City Television” I have seen artists come and I have seen them go after one hit. One hit wonders as they say.
But young artists come along when they are teenagers and keep growing as a artist and they prove they will not be one hit wonders. Artists like Usher, Beyonce, Lil Wayne and others including a artist that started out singing country type music and I have to say I love music but I am not a big fan of country music. I just have to tell the truth.
This artist I am talking about is Taylor Swift. I have a new found respect for Taylor. She has shown me and the most important point her fans that she is here to stay. Taylor is just producing hit cd after hit cd. She can go country if she wants or go pop if she wants like she has done lately. It does not matter. Swift produces hits for her millions of fans all over the world. Even if you are not a fan of her music, you have to respect Taylor Swift.
And she also seems to be a very down to earth young lady and it seems her great success has not gone to her head and it seems she really cares about her fans. This past week Taylor packed in more awards at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. And her new music video was shown that features rapper Kendrick Lamar. The song is off the chain. Another hit for sure by Taylor Swift.
David Letterman Reires: As I type this article it is the day talk show legend David Letterman is having his last program of ”Late Night With David Letterman” He is retiring after 33 years behind the microphone.
Letterman is the best late night talk show host in my opinion. Some say he is better than Johnny Carson. But one thing for sure Letterman retires as a entertainment legend.
Dave also gave a lot of hip-hop and r&b artists a national stage to peform in front of millions of people, Letterman had every genre of music artists on his program through the years. Country, pop, hip-hop, rap, r&b, classic soul artist and on and on. Every big comic has appeared on Letterman. Of course big Hollywood stars got interviewed by Dave as well as Presidents like President Clinton and President George W. Bush and of course President Obama.
We do not know what Letterman will do in retirement. Will he just go fishing and enjoy his millions or will he make a appearence on TV once in awhile. I know he has a NASCAR team too. Wish the best to David Letterman and thanks for all the entertainment you brought to us for 33 years.
Here is a short interview “Music Inner City TV” did with David Letterman’s band leader Paul Shaffer a few years ago in Los Angeles.
I have not wrote my opinions on this topic but enough is enough readers. I have been watching CNN and MSNBC this week and coverage of the African American who died in the jail after being arrested for who knows what.
Word is he had a legal knife on him but the public is still wondering why he was stopped by police in Baltimore. It appears the black fella had problems with his breathing while police was taking him in there van. While in the van it seems something very very wrong may have happened.
Because the fella died with a broken neck!!! Something went very very wrong it seems in the hands of Baltimore police and citizens in Baltimore are very upset. They are marching and saying “black lives matter” and another black man is dead in the hands of the police. And I agree readers. SOMETHING IS VERY VERY WRONG!! To many black men are dying in the hands of the police all over the US.
But readers something else is VERY VERY wrong. And that is black on black crime. That means blacks killing other blacks in the African American communities of the United States. And readers I am sorry, I do not see the outrage and where are the marches in the community about blacks killing other blacks????
I want to see the outrage when a black person kills another black person, young or old just like when a white police officer kills a black man in New York, South Carolina or anywhere!! Where is the marching when this happens?
I do not see or hear the outrage about “black on black” crime in the communities of the United States. The question is why readers? The last few days I called into a local African American radio station called the Ztwins about the topic of black on black crime here in the Seattle area and something VERY interesting happened.
And that is regular callers who call in EVERY DAY on every other topic did NOT call in on the topic of “black on black” crime BUT let a situation come up that a black man is shot or killed by a white police etc…the phones at the station are RINGING OFF THE HOOK!!! This is VERY VERY STRANGE! Again the question is why readers?
In my strong opinion, Rev Jesse Jackson, Rev Al Sharpton, Dr. Micheal Eric Dyson, Cornell West, Tavis Smiley and yes our President..President Obama and you and myself should care more about blacks killing other blacks in the ” hood” or community. This is “One Man’s Opinion”
I am a person brought up on 30th and Union in Seattle, Washington’s Central Area. Until recently it was known as the African American community. With plenty of African American businesses and a few white and Asian owned businesses in the area.
There was Sammy’s for a great hamburger and fries, Oscars and Deanos to go and hang out and have drink or play some pool and even watch a great boxing match. There was Mrs. Helen’s, Thompson’s, Pal’s Tavern, Little Record Mart, Doll House, Jordan’s Drug and Grocery, Singletary’s Gas Station, Joe’s Grocery with Joe and May (pic of Joes Grocery ORIGINAL SIGN hanging in a Madrona area restaurant/bar on 34th and Union right here) IGA Grocery Store, Madrona Pharmacy, Erma and Daye’s Barber Shops, Richlens, Catfish Corner and more. It was a great community to be in.
I remember the Mardi Gras Festival at Garfield Playfield and Powell Barnett Park with big ferris wheels and a big and huge sound stage and speaks and thousands of folks in attendance. Had plenty of rides for the kids, cotton candy and every thing a festival should have including a big parade with Seafair floats and a nationally known star riding in the parade every year.
I remember shootin hoops every summer at Madrona School and the park across the street from Madrona School. It was ALWAYS full of cats shootin hoops on a spring or summer day in the CD.
I can name many more businesses but here is where I am going in this article readers. My community is not my community anymore AND IT HURTS ME BIG TIME!! The Central Area here in Seattle has turned into a majority white community because of the word GENSTRAFATION.
Whites have taken over the African American community. When I come into the CD every morning to conduct my Seattle Public Schools Adult School Crossing job on 30th and Union, I basically see nothing but white folks walking their dogs all over the place. I think I have seen EVERY BREED OF DOG on god’s green earth since I started this employment. No joke!
I see white folks hanging with white folks. The parks in the CD is full of white families and there dogs of course. Because of gentriafication of the Central Area, it is to the point that when I see African Americans hanging out walking etc, I am HAPPY!! I really am!! It is JOY AND HAPPINESS as Rev Al Green sang. I will even stop and tell folks I am happy to see them. And I tell them why.
What has happened is this. When former Mayor Norm Rice was the Mayor of Seattle, all of a sudden property taxes started to go sky high in the Central Area because the CD is near downtown, near Safeco Field, Century Link Field, near Pike Place Market and the waterfront etc. So because of this situation, it pushed African American families out to the surburbs and whites moved in because sorry to say whites income level is triple that of African Americans. Readers that is just the way it is. Check the stats.
My mom has been on 30th and Spring St. since 1957. She is 90 years old. My mom bought her house for about $7,000. Now in 2015 it is worth around $800,000! And like I said her property taxes have jacked up big time. She is lucky enough where she can afford to pay it. But many African Americans cannot. So as I said, whites have moved in so now my African American is no more and it makes me mad.
My good friend Charlie James said on Facebook the gentrification of Seattle’s African American community happened because of one word and that one word is RACISM. James and many many others INCLUDING MYSELF thinks it was all a plan that started even before Mayor Rice became Mayor. The plan was to price African Americans out of the CD so whites can move in. Like Charlie, I truly believe this is what happened.
Readers the other day I was on my job and a few white folks was sitting on a bench basically looking at me for 20 min like “Who is this black guy in my community” So when they crossed the street I asked them why was they looking at me for almost a half hour. Of course they told me they was not looking at me. But that was a lie!! I told them this. “This is MY community where I grew up..the Madrona area, and you are not going to intimidate me and you can move back to Ballard or the Roosevelt area where you came from!!”
So readers I am not happy with the genstrification of the Central Area of Seattle. It has turned into yuppie land. But the CD will STILL be MY COMMUNITY and I REFUSE to let white folks intimidate me in MY COMMUNITY!! REAL TALK!!! New story about my views of the “Gentrification Of Seattle’s Central Area” coming right here very soon!!
I was digging on the net for interesting stories for my website and came about this story that hit me like a ton of bricks..bam..pow!! Is superstar actor Leonardo DiCaprio dating superstar Rihanna?
Guess it may be true readers. They have been seen at different parties together and DiCaprio attended Rihanna 27th birthday and they were seen hanging on to each other all during the party.
But there is also rumors Leonardo has eyes for a model named Kelly Rohrbach who is a lady born in Barbados.
So I guess it is known that DiCaprio is known playboy when it comes to the ladies.
Rumor is Leo is the one who put on the birthday party for Rihanna. Word is when it comes to Rihanna they have been seeing each other since January. Both of these people have been rumored with plenty of others. But truth be told I do not think this couple will last long at all. DiCaprio like I said is a playboy. Will Rihanna stand with this cat when he is rumored with this lady and that lady in social media?
And on the other side, Rihanna is a beautiful female who guys want to be with. With social media the way it is, a rumor can hit Twitter or Facebook etc that Rihanna was seen with this dude or another dude what ever and the relationship is over with Leo.
Yeah they look good together but that mean NOTHING when they are as high profile as they are. So is this couple a real couple? Are they in love or trying to be in love? How will “Uncle Jay Z” feel about this relationship? Time will tell.
Rancic UPDATE: E Network thinking about firing Rancic. People at the network are very very upset at her and want her removed from the network. Follow up story soon right here.
IMPORTANT: All Android smartphone users to watch/listen to all Ustream webcasts and podcasts by downloading the FREE “Ustream App” via Google Play store and type in search box “musicinnercity” All others watch/listen RIGHT HERE!!
I have always liked to watch the red carpet events from Hollywood and then I watch the late great Joan Rivers put folks on full blast over their outfits on “Fashion Police” on E Network.
On the program was Kelly Osborne and Rivers and Giuliana Rancic and another person. I always thought Rancic was a very down to earth person and host. But now I think totally different about her because of her comments about Zendaya Colman who is a star from the Disney Channel.
Zendaya came to the Oscars and went down the red carpet with her head in dreadlocks. Guess it shocked a few people including Rancic. Who went on “Fashion Police” and said that Zendaya’s dreadlocks smells like “patchouli” and weed!! SAY WHAT? I know Rancic did not say that over the air but she say that and a lot of people are really upset at Giulina.
What Rancic comments about Zendaya show again is racism is alive and well in America/Hollywood and I feel in a big way that Giuliana should be fired or suspended for a month without pay from the “Fashion Police” What has happened is Rancic saying she is “sorry” for her comments yesterday on “E News”. To me that ain’t enough. I am not buying this “sorry” crap. Rancic said after she is being blasted all over social media that all this is a “learning experience” The hell with that!!
She should have already been educated! Kelly Osbourne is very very upset at Giuliana over her dreadlocks comments and said she may stop doing “Fashion Police”. And I do not blame her at all. How can Rancic have the freakin nerve to say what she said about Zendaya’s dreadlocks?
It is VERY OBVIOUS that Giulina needs to take DIVERSITY TRAINING as soon as possible. E Network should suspend her without pay for a month a two right now. Saying she is very sorry is not enough.
“MUSIC INNER CITY SPORTS” BREAKING NEWS: Bulls guard Derrick Rose out with a knee injury. Operation soon! TERRIBLE NEWS FOR THE NBA AND BULLS FANS!! Rose cannot stay on the court!!
“Music Inner City Radio” podcast. This week a audiocast of a recent “M.I.C-TV” program with guest new singer BRIELLE. Plus hot new music! Just put on your headphones and enjoy the interview and music!
Plus watch the most recent “M.I.C-TV” program below. Watch via smartphone, tablet, pc or mac!!
The Academy Awards was held in Hollywood and I decided not to watch the event. I boycotted the Oscars because of the flat out racism going on with the organization of the Academy Awards and the event.
And I have learned today that the ratings for this years Oscars telecast were down 19% and the lowest since 2009. Maybe because millions of other African Americans and people of color decided to boycott the Academy Awards also like yours truly.
It is a outrage what is going on readers and everyone should be shocked that this happened in 2015 in America. It is like African Americans are not making movies or acting in movies. If you watched the Oscars you would think it is 1935 instead of 2015.
How can it be that ALL 20 ACTING CATEGORIES WHERE WITH WHITE ACTORS? How can this be?
Here is some more shocking news. There has been ONLY 32 TIMES IN 87 YEARS OF THE ACADEMY AWARDS THAT A AFRICAN AMERICAN HAS WON A AWARDS!! ONLY 32 TIMES!! That means ONLY 32 WINNERS OUT OF MORE THAN 2,900 WINNERS. That number includes John Legend and Common win this year for best original song. THIS IS A OUTRAGE!
The Academy Awards committee is made up of 94% whites!! Plus Halle Barry is the ONLY black female to win Best Actress in the HISTORY of the Oscars for her performance in “Monster’s Ball” in 2002. THIS IS JUST FLAT OUT WRONG!! You cannot tell me that a black female has not had a performance in a movie worthy of Best Actress. Cannot tell me this readers!!
Something is VERY VERY wrong when it comes to DIVERSITY in Hollywood. The question is what can be done about this huge problem? Will it take a major protest by the NAACP or National Action Network or the Rainbow Coalition? Action needs to be taken about the racism going on in Hollywood. With only 32 winners of Oscars in 87 YEARS, everyone should take notice and work on this problem immediately!!
BREAKING “MUSIC INNER CITY SPORTS” NEWS: Former NBA player and former Seattle Sonic Jerome Kersey has died at age 52. More details to come.
As some of you know I have wrote stories regarding how amazed I am at the popularity of the Kardashian Family. I have always wondered why are they so damn popular. It is crazy readers. It really is.
All you have to do is go to the store where the magazines are and look for the gossip area and you will see the Kardashian Family all over the place in different magazines. Then go online to gossip sites like Eonline, The Insider, People etc. Kardashian stories everywhere! The question is why readers? This is a family with zero talent. Cannot sing or dance or act. Why are they so popular?
If it is not Kim, it’s her sister Khloe, or it’s their mom, or it’s Kim and Khloe’s little sister’s and brother. Or it is Bruce Jenner. They are all over the headlines when it comes to gossip. Unreal folks..unreal.
Of course Kim is always in the news because she is married to Kanye West. Man…what a couple! I am surprised the relationship has lasted this long to be truthful. And Kim is always in the news for what she is wearing or even not wearing. Of course we first learned about Kim when a sex tape got out to the public with former boyfriend Ray J.
So lately their is news that model Amber Rose and Khloe are beefing. And recently Amber says that football legend OJ Simpson is her real father and this story about OJ might being Khloe’s father is not a new story. It has been in gossip news before. Maybe Khloe should address this rumor but I guess it will be hard to prove with OJ in jail.
Anyway I am wondering what is the next Kardashian story that will be in gossip headlines? All this about a family with ZERO talent. Gordon Curvey
If you know anything about ya boy Gordon, you know I do not have a problem speaking my mind on issues. Some of you may disagree and some may agree with my views. But I will say how I feel.
In this story I am writing about something I feel very strongly about. And that is our so called African American community or should I say Negro community here in the home of the Seahawks..Seattle, Washington. I have been here all my life folks. But we have a huge program in this city in my strong opinion and that is NO UNITY!! NO UNITY IN THE NEGRO COMMUNITY OF SEATTLE!! A SHAME!
As Negros here in Seattle we have no unity. We don’t speak to each other, we do not open up different kind of businesses other than ANOTHER church or ANOTHER restaurant serving food to make you fat and have diabetes and high blood pressure, ANOTHER barber shop or beauty shop, and that’s about it as whole. It is a shame. You know why? Because the few businesses we have we do not support them.
Look at the Vietnamese and Koreans and now the East Africans. They come to America to make money and bring up their kids. Most come here with NOTHING but a pair of worn out shoes and what they and their children are wearing on their backs. BUT guess what? They will go to school and learn a trade and safe their money and have a meeting at someones place and pool their money and then open up a mom and pop store or a cell phone business or a travel agency or a $1 store or a grocery store(s) or a donut place and MANY OTHER TYPE OF BUSINESSES.
Meanwhile we as Negros in Seattle walk around and past by each other and do not speak to one another etc. Here is a example. I am a Adult School Crossing Guard for the Seattle Public Schools at 34th and Union here in Seattle. I am telling you the truth folks most white folks pass buy and speak to me with “Good morning” or “Good afternoon”. Some will say “The sun is out and it going to be a nice day” or “Have a good weekend” or “How about the Seahawks” etc.
BUT sorry to say most African Americans or Negros will pass right by and say NOTHING!!! Like I am a invisible man or Casper the Ghost or something. Most Negro females will pass by looking mean like a parent just died or their dog ran away or they just had a argument. So I will go out my way to speak to them after they pass by. Some I will ask….how come we do not speak to one another as Negros.
Some will say “I am sorry I was day dreaming” or “my mind was drifting” etc. Give me a break with the “day dreaming” crap. We have a very serious problem readers if you are a African American reading this. Yeah we can get together once a year and “act” like a real black man or lady to sing “We Shall Overcome” and then march to a empty building on MLK Day. Meanwhile MLK Park is empty.
But guess what readers, the next day IT IS BACK TO THE SAME OLE SAME OLE. No unity, not speaking to each other, not opening up new businesses etc. If you are in Seattle, get on the bus or your car and start in the International District/Chinatown and then get on Rainier Ave South or MLK Jr. Way South and count how many small malls FULL OF ASIAN OWNED BUSINESSES. It is unreal. Count how many African American/Negros with a mall full of businesses. The grand total will be ZERO!! The Asians have Chinatown for goodness sake. FULL OF BUSINESSES!! Owned by Asians.
We don’t have a problem getting loans to buy a new Cad SUV or buy $5,000 rims on a 1979 Buick Regal, but how about opening a different kind of business like the Asians and now East Africans? Our priorities are twisted. Very twisted readers. We need to wake up and smell the coffee like other races. They smell the color of money every day when they run to the bank with a smile on their faces and we have frowns and walk around looking angry and not speaking to one another.

One thing for sure others have spoke out supporting the legendary icon Bill Cosby with all the ladies screaming rape and sexual abuse by Mr. Cosby and it has been very very sad in my strong opinion.
Jill Scott, Whoppi Goldberg, and others have taken a stand in support of Mr. Cosby. All of the stars of the “Cosby” show have been silent. Until now because the beautiful Phylicia Rashad has finally spoken out in support of Bill. And I like it. Read her comments in the link above. Ms. Rashad also beautiful sister the multi-talented Debbie Allen has also spoke out in support of Cosby. And that is great.
I am so glad Phylicia has finally spoke up. Because I have ALWAYS respected her as a very intelligent and talented and thoughtful African American sista who is respected in the entertainment industry and out. So in my opinion her words and comments mean something. It realy does.
These ladies have almost destroyed Mr. Cosby’s legendary career by bringing up so called incidents that was supposed to happen as long as 40 years ago at the Playboy mansion and other places. No charges have ever been made against Cosby. The question is WHY? It is flat out amazing readers that none of these females have made charges against Mr.Cosby. The latest, another icon Beverly Johnson. I have lost respect for her.
Johnson comes out of nowhere and blasts Cosby on Dr. Phil and on CNN. Saying Cosby sexually abuse her MANY MANY YEARS AGO!! Give me a freakin break!! In my opinion she and the other ladies are looking to make money doing interviews etc and seeking their “15 min of fame”. Ms Rashad and her sister Debbie ARE NOT seeking their “15 min of fame” Hell no! They are busy producing shows and acting and more. The have never been out the public eye. So again this is why Goldberg and Jill Scott and Phylicia and Debbie support of Mr. Cosby means something and mean something to me and others.
So I am glad Ms. Rashad spoke up supporting Bill Cosby. And I hope more will speak up too. Gordon Curvey
“Music Inner City Television” webcast from outside of Century Link Field after our Seattle Seahawks beat the Carolina Panthers. With fans giving there comments about the game. Webcast up very soon right here!!
I do not know about you readers but their is one thing I am TIRED of and that is turning on TV and seeing motor mouth African American females cussing and swearing all through the programs. TIRED!!!!!!
The question is why does this continue to happen? Are the producers of these programs white or African American? “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” and “Love & Hip-Hop” and more have black females not acting like REAL ladies. Instead they act like clowns and buffoons. Calling each other bitches and MFs and “you ain’t shit” and “I fucked you man” and much more!! Are these real classy females readers?
Now ANOTHER classless program has joined the mix…the terrible terrible “Sorority Sisters” on VH1. Who in the HELL gave the green light on this worthless program?? Who are the producers of this crap? It is suppose to be about African American females who are part of college sororities and the things they go though in their routines of being in a sorority. This show should hae NEVER EVER BEEN MADE!!!
But check this out folks. Sorority presidents from Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, Zeta Phi Beta and Alpha Kappa Alpha have asked VH1 to remove this piece of a show called program. I do not blame them readers. I have watched two of the programs and I just cannot understand why this crap was put on the air. I am amazed. This so called program is one of the worst reality programs in the history of reality programs!!!
Sorority presidents have said in a statement that “Sorority Sisters” is not a accurate reflection of these organizations” Man that is the freakin truth! I know African American females DO NOT act like these motor mouth and loud ladies. Or should I say so called ladies. Using all the cuss words in the dictionary. It is truly truly embarrassing as a African American to see this BS on national TV where millions can watch it.
Folks here is a fact. Millions of non African Americans who watch these reality programs with African American so called ladies cussing and swearing, they think this is the way most black females really really act. Now this is very sad. I hope and pray that VH1 will remove this BS program off the air ASAP!!
I have been waiting to write this story because I have a rep in the area of being a “whiner” But I cannot hold back any longer folks. The icing on the cake for myself writing this piece is what happened when it comes to the recent Usher concert here in Seattle.
I asked a long time friend of mine to go to the Usher concert to write a review of the concert for me to talk about here on my site. Maybe three paragraphs or so. I got him in the concert for free. So this friend got in the concert and went on to NOT write a review of the concert I got him in for free. So in reality he got to see a FREE CONCERT ON THE BACK OF YOURS TRULY.
This is the most recent situation with my African American people as a businessman that is negative. This month is my 24th year of producing “Music Inner City Television” We are the ONLY program of it’s type on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand that is locally produced. On the air 24 hours a day basically without the financial support of African American artists and business people. It is truly sad readers.
Here is another story of negativity. As I have said “Music Inner City Television” is having a 24 year birthday this month and their are THREE radio shows hosted by African Americans in the Seattle area. One on the Ztwins, one hosted by my childhood friend Eddie Rye on KKNW and one hosted by James Gore also on KKNW. I have not been a guest on none of the programs to discuss my long history of my program. Nor have I been invited to be on J. Moore’s radio program on KUBE93. I have know Mr. Rye and his family since I was five years old because the Ryes home was right around the corner from mine in the Madrona area when I grew up.
Eddie’s family Brenda and Sally and Jackie and Jerry and Tony and the late Mr. Rye and Mrs Rye are like family to me and every time I see Eddie’s daughter Angela on CNN and MSNBC I feel very happy. I have known her since she was a child.
I have asked to be a guest on Eddie Rye’s program and though a friend of his Haywood Evans, Eddie goes back to a incident about three or four years ago where I spoke out about folks being in the “trenches” in working with inner city kids at a press conference at a local church.
Mr. Rye I learned though Mr. Evans has refused to allow me on his radio show because of that. Even if I did some You Tube work for Eddie, he has refused to allow me on his radio show but he has had folks on who cannot hold my jock. His actions towards me is childish for a man of his age.
Mr. Frank P. Burrow is the host of a morning talk show on the Ztwins radio stations in the Seattle area. I respect Frank because he has been in broadcasting more than 50 years and is a real nice dude. The station is owned by Mr. Chris H. Bennett. I had a TERRIBLE fire in 2005 and Chris helped me THAT NIGHT and bought me hundreds of dollars of equipment at Fry’s to help keep my TV show going on the air. I will FOR EVER let me repeat FOR EVER be grateful to Chris for the help he gave me in my fire in which I lost every thing. VERY grateful to Chris Bennett.
Having said that I have never been a guest on the daily morning talk show on the Ztwins. I have never been given a reason WHY readers other than “Music Inner City is competition to the Ztwins” The answer is just no all the time I ask Frank. I have a TREMENDOUS story to tell listeners about having a dream like Dr. King and I have made most of my dreams come true. Not money wise but the legends I have interviewed is UNREAL. Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Al Green, Ernie Isley, Quincy Jones, George Duke, Big Daddy Kane, Smokey Robinson, Micheal Jordan, Phil Jackson, Ike Turner, Rick James, Chaka Khan, Run DMC and many more.
Plus I never gave up after having this fire and the loss of my right lung due to a rare form of pneumonia in 2011. I hung in their and kept my TV program on the air with very little support.
Finally readers, to the point above. While my African American brothas REFUSE to invite me on their radio shows, the white man will allow me on their media. For instance their is a sports show called “Northwest Sports Tonight” hosted by my friend Paul Silvi who is the sports director of KING5 TV station here in the Seattle area.
Paul of course is white. I have been a guest on “NWST” at least FIVE OR SIX TIMES OVER THE YEARS! I just pick up the phone or email or tweet Paul and ask him if I can come down to the KING5 studios to tape a segment and talk about the Seahawks or other sports topics and Paul says no problem ALL THE TIME!! But again my African American folks tell me NO as a guest on their programs.
I am trying to figure out why this happens. I have much more to say coming up soon so stay tuned. This is not “whining” readers!! These are facts. If any of you have any feedback please send me your views. email firstname.lastname@example.org Facebook www.face.com/gordon.curvey Twitter www.twitter.com Phone 206-445-3989 When you respond please let me know what city or country your are in. And thanks for your support!!
Ladies and gentleman I watched the press conference today in Ferguson that featured the Micheal Brown family’s lawyers and others. I just KNEW that the Rev. Al Sharpton would be in front of the freakin cameras.
I was right folks. It seems Rev. Al loves to see himself on TV and online etc. Why is he always out front of high profile cases? Rev Al always says he was asked to show up all the time. I think that is BS. I truly believe Rev Al puts HIMSELF in front of the cameras to be seen. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the case. He likes some Rev Al!
I used to be a tremendous supporter of Rev Al but it has got to the point where I am tired of seeing him out front in press conferences in big cases all over the US. And readers DO NOT think he is doing this in these different cities for free. Hell no! He is making money for himself and his organization the National Action Network.
How come other leaders cannot be out front like Rev Dr. Micheal Eric Dyson or National Urban League President Mark Marial or other leaders in the African American community? Most of the time Marial is there at these press conferences BUT Sharpton is the one HOGGING the microphone all the time. At the press conference today in Ferguson, it was Rev Sharpton out front as always. I am tired of this happening readers.
I am mad as hell that Officer Wilson is allowed to walk in his killing of young unarmed Micheal Brown. It is a OUTRAGE! It seems a black life means NOTHING when a white police kills a black man. The police is ALWAYS found innocent. THIS IS WRONG READERS!!
Having said that I think it is WRONG for folks to riot and destroy black owned mom and pop stores. It is very very sad to see this going on in Ferguson. Yes I understand folks are upset. I am very upset. But people do NOT need to destroy their community. I hope this will stop.
Also readers let me say this. FOX NEWS LED BY SEAN HANNITY AND BILL O’REILLY ARE RACIST BIGOTS along with Megyn Kelly. I watched Fox News for a little while after the wrong decision was made to let Wilson go. Hannity and O’Reilly and Kelly all were on the side of the killer Wilson. Saying the decision was correct etc. FLAT OUT AND PURE RACISM!!
Finally I wish ALL OF MICHEAL BROWN’S LAWYERS WOULD STAY OFF OF THE RACIST HANNITY AND O’REILLY AND KELLY’S PROGRAMS!! It is beyond me why they would go on Fox News. When they have shown they are racist bigots. Look at the way Hannity and Kelly treats President Obama. I THINK THEY HATE HIM. I also think they are the reason people want to kill the President. I truly believe this readers and I will not change my mind on this.
It is to bad that BET is such a TERRIBLE TV station. They do not have a nightly news show for African Americans and the same goes for TV One. This is truly sad. Story on this issue soon right here on “Music Inner City News Magazine”
There are very few movies and TV shows I can watch over and over. I have watched “Coming To America” starring Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall maybe 30 times in the past. And it is funny every time I watch it.
The part with Eddie playing all those guys in the barbershop is funny every time I watch the movie. And on TV I can watch “The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” over and over. Of course the star of the show was Will Smith who played Will Smith on the show. The program was started and made for him by the legendary and former Seattle resident Quincy Jones.
It had a long six year run on NBC and truth be told the show could have lasted longer but of course Will was becoming a huge Hollywood star making huge hit box office movies. So he said “see ya” to the TV show. In TV six years is long time for like “Fresh Prince” We got to see little girl Tatyana Ali grow up to become a beautiful young lady.
“Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” was just a very good and funny program. Pure and simple. It is STILL doing very well in reruns for sure. With great stories and great timing of the jokes by the entire cast. Karyn Parsons played Hilary, Tatyana played Asley, Joesph Marcell played the butler Geoffrey, Will played Will and the late James Avery was the father and uncle of the family. Avery passed last year. And Alfonso Ribeiro played the popular Carlton on the show.
There has been rumors of a “Fresh Prince” reunion for years but that was ended by cast members when Avery passed. But every now and then the other cast members get together and a event. Rebeiro has said they are like family to him and will always be that way. You can You Tube a program where Will and Carlton got together in England on a TV show while Smith was promoting a movie and they performed the Carlton Dance for audience. It was great!!
Parsons, Ali, Marcell and Alfonso all hooked up for a mini reunion on the set of “Dancing With The Stars” where Ribeiro did very well in and he even did his famous Carlton Dance on the program to the delight of millions. It got plenty of views on You Tube. So again it was great to see most of the cast of “Fresh Prince” again and RIP to James Avery.
While B.E.T. (Black Entertainment) continue to totally disrespect us, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) continue to respect us at “Music Inner City Entertainment”.
There are a few people I really truly truly respect as a African American and a role model. One of them is media icon and former guest on “Music Inner City Television”, Oprah Winfrey. A TRUE MEDIA ICON.
Oprah started from nothing down in a small hick town down south and became a billionaire. It is just amazing when you look at the story of Oprah and it can be a story for young people to look at and realize they can be somebody like the Rev. Jesse Jackson says. Oprah wanted to be known and wanted to be famous and help people. Well she is doing that for sure now.
For 25 years she hosted the “The Oprah Winfrey Show” that aired all over the world. She had entertainers on her show, President’s on her show, people she totally disagreed with on her show. She has used her fame to help people in the U.S. and all over the world. Including starting a school for young kids in South Africa.
Winfrey has also gave millions and millions of dollars to black colleges in the U.S. Oprah Winfrey is just a dynamic lady. Pure and simple folks and now of course she has new network called OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network). At first the ratings were terrible. But recently show hooked up with Tyler Perry to do produce a series a programs on OWN and her network ratings have really improved. And I am very happy to see this happening.
“The Life You Want” tour held by Winfrey came to my city Seattle and with the support of OWN “Music Inner City Television” was in the building at Key Arena to tape video both days of the event. I am one of the few people in the Northwest who is lucky enough to say I have met an interviewed Oprah. That took place in Seattle in 2003.
We will have two programs from the event on “Music Inner City Television” from the event. Details soon right here and on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/gordon.curvey and on my Twitter page at www.twitter.com/gcurvey I want to thank Mike Check for his support and of course OWN for their great support.

Let’s be truthful Halle Berry’s movie career lately has not been the best. Yes she gets paid top dollar as a Oscar winner but I guess she has not got real good roles to play in Hollywood. This is very obvious.
But then again, as a African American actress or a person of color in Hollywood and a female too it makes it even harder. When I watch “Access Hollywood” and “The Insider” and “Extra” and “Entertainment Tonight” you do NOT see stories on black actors male or female. It is like black actors are not in Hollywood. For real readers.
Also Berry’s love life has not been the best too. It seems she goes from man to man. And now she is in a sad battle with one of her ex men over child support payments for her child Nahla.
Halle was ordered to pay $16,000 a month child support payments to Gabriel Aubry. But Berry wants the payments to be reduced to $3,000 a month because she feels Aubry is not looking for work while getting the payments for little Nahla. First of all how does Berry know what Aubry is doing with the payments? She does not know in my opinion.
Also in my opinion Berry should not have had the child. But they did and the judge said pay $16,000 so she should do what the judge says and pay the money. I cannot believe that Halle would ask the judge to reduce the payments. She is worth millions so she should stop complaining.
The poor child is in the middle of this crap. This is why some children grow up with problems with their parents constantly at each other. Truly sad readers. Truly sad.
Watch “SPORTS INNER CITY TELEVISION” below. Topic include is Russell Wilson “black enough”, Kobe Bryant and more!
The other day I grabbed my remote and tuned in “Love And Hip-Hop/Atlanta” to see what is going on. And soon I saw beautiful African American sistas going at each other using the worse speech there is. Or I saw sistas cussing their men.
As a African American it bothers the hell out of me to see the ladies fighting on national or even worldwide TV. I do not know how others feel but I do not like it! You know MANY MANY white folks think the way these sistas act on these reality shows is the way they really act all the time. This is the truth. But I am here to say not all African American females act this way folks.
Sad to say millions of folks tune into these shows just to see black ladies fight and yell at each other. They are not tuning in to see a great love story on these reality shows!! No way.
I wonder how these ladies parents feel about seeing the children cussing out one another. Are they proud parents? I don’t think so. But here is a question. Is all the yelling and cussing between the African American ladies staged? Is it just a act? Some think it is. Sorry I think it is real. A lot a black ladies do use very bad speech. It is just a fact. The question is why? Why do a lot of black ladies or African American females use bad language? Where is it starting?
Do these females care that there children or other family members may be watching these reality programs? Heck do they even care readers? I don’t really know. I just do not understand. To keep it real it makes me real angry to see these sistas fighting week after week on TV. Does it really have to be this way?
Finally, how about some for real African American love stories on TV? Or more dramas that deal with people of color? Does it have to be “Love and Hip-Hop” or “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” etc? I want to see love stories on TV like for instance the movie back in the day “Love Jones” and more dramas. Readers in my honest opinion it is needed very badly. We do NOT need to see beautiful African American females tossing blows at each other and cussing each other out or cussing at the boyfriend. We do not it anymore!
Comments? email@example.com Listen to “The Hot 12″ with D Duane. Just click “podcast” above and enjoy the show!
I do not throw around the word great to much. Micheal Jordan was great. The late King Of Pop Micheal Jackson was great. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was great. Muhammad Ali was great. The late Whitney Houston was great. N.W.A was great. Former guest on “Music Inner City TV” Big Daddy Kane is great. Larry Bird was great. So many you can call great.
But a TRUE great person left us at the age of 86, Dr. Maya Angelou. When ever I saw a interview with her on TV I sat and listened. Because when she talked it was like going to school because I always learned something from this great African American lady.
Yes I was a little bothered when she came out and supported Hillary Clinton in 2008 instead of then Sen. Barack Obama. The first African American who had a chance to be President.
But she had her own reason. As did another great person “Magic” Johnson and another great businessman, Bob Johnson. But that did not stop me from having profound respect for Dr. Angelou. Her good friend and former guest on “M.I.C-TV” Oprah was not happy too because Ms. O was a huge supporter of Sen. Obama.
But anyway Dr. Maya Angelou was a towering force for African Americans. Just a flat out dynamic legendary person. A great great poet, a actor, a writer and much more. Maya would write a poem and read it and it will leave you crying. Just the way she delivered the poem. So emotional and so deep. So much thought put into it.
The world is a much better place because of the GREAT Dr. Angelou. That is for sure. RIP Dr. Angelou. We all love you. By the way I have to leave you with this. HEY YOUNG PEOPLE IF YOU HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS GREAT PERSON…READ AND LEARN ABOUT THE GREAT DR. MAYA ANGELOU. Gordon Curvey
I ran across this story online and decided to bring it to you readers here on our site. It is a study as maybe why African American and black ladies seem to have short hair. It is very interesting.
Of course as a African American men we notice that our black sistas seem to wear a lot of extensions on there head. Truth be told in my strong opinion, a lot of black ladies look good with short hair. Say for instance Toni Braxton. I watch her program on TV with her family and for a few years she wore a lot of extensions and she looked…well ok. But this past season Toni wore her hair without extensions and in my opinion she looked VERY good! Like back in the day when she first became a “star”
Another black female who looks great with short hair is Halle Berry. Fellas we all can agree with this. In my opinion a lot of African American ladies just look a mess with all the extensions on top of their head. For instance Beyonce in my opinion would look as fine as hell with short hair.
I guess this study shows that African American females need more iron in their systems to help with this problem. So maybe sistas should take more vitamins every day. Maybe this would help.
My goodness I am going to say something right now that African American and black females will not agree with. I think a lot of sistas decide to wear extensions to look “white”. Again why not wear the hair that god planned for you? Why pay money for “fake” hair that looks a mess on a lot of sistas heads? Ladies like Braxton and Berry and and sometimes Kelly Rowland and others look damn good with there own hair.
Some females wear different color extensions on their heads….why? In my opinion that ain’t a good look. Yes some white females wear extensions too. But most do not. That is why I say a lot of sistas want to where extensions to look “white” And by the way, here is something that is a FACT. Why is it that the Asians are making MILLIONS sell hair products to black females? This is crazy!!
The fellas…I would be interesting to have a poll to see how they really feel about sistas and extensions. But I guess sistas can care less how black men feel about how they wear their hair. They care about their beauty. Again in my opinion I wish sistas would wear what god planned for them as far as their hair. I think a lot of men will agree with me that a lot of black ladies would look just fine without extensions.

“Music Inner City TV/Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand/Western Washington state/24-7/go to “get local” then “around the sound” or for those of you out of town or do not have Comcast view our webcasts right here. And view via smartphones, pc’s, tablet and more!!
Back in the day I watched “The Arsenio Hall” program every night because he put on urban acts all the time. Acts like NWA and Heavy D & The Boyz and the late great Whitney and Snoop.
Hall was even bold enough to have Minister Louis Farrakhan on a guest and many many more. It was the place to be for urban America in the late night on TV. I never understood why he left the show in 1994. I guess he got burnt out and decided to end the show. Since then late night for urban America has not been the same. This is real.
We all know that Johnny Carson and Jay Leno who hosted the legendary “Tonight Show” and David Letterman did not have too many urban acts on their shows and the same for Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, Not many urban acts came to perform on those programs.
So Arsenio Hall decided to come back with his show and again he is allowing acts like 2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar and others to perform on his program. I am very happy he is back. I am worried that his ratings may not be the best. It seems his network promoting his program like they should. I don’t see many promos for his show.
Hell Brian Williams recently was discussing the late night programs on TV and for some reason left out Arsenio. Hall put Williams on blast for not mentioning his program. And I do not blame him! How can Williams not mention Hall’s program readers? Where was his mind at. Of course Williams mentions Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel and Letterman and even Conon O’Brien BUT does not mention Arsenio. This is wrong. Hope everyone will tune in and watch the “Arsenio Hall” program.
Watch “Music Inner City TV/”Sports Inner City TV” pre-season interviews with members of our Seattle Seahawks via Ustream TV to the right. If not airing it will be on soon!
If you readers know anything about me you know I am more than a TV producer. For years I have fought for one thing…DIVERSITY. Diversity in the studios of sports radio here in the home of the Seattle Seahawks…Seattle, Washington.
In the last year sports radio KJR hired Jerry Brewer as a sports radio host. He is a African American and is doing a fine job with Elise Woodward on KJR. How bout that a African American and a female from 10am to noon Monday thur Friday.
Brewer by the way is a sports editorial writer for the Seattle Times and does a fine job their too. Lisa Decker the GM for Clear Channel in our area told me she would make some changes and she would stand up for diversity. Hiring Brewer was a start for sure. She kept her word.
710 ESPN here in Seattle is another story. Zero African Americans on the air on a daily basis and it seems like the General Manager and Program Director does not care about the word diversity. Yes they have a Hispanic-American over the air but not a African Americans on a regular basis. This is a problem folks. When about 90% of the time the hosts on 710 ESPN are discussing a African American in the sports world, a African American is needed over the air. But like I said it seems they do not want change. Do not care about having a African American over the air on a regular basis.
Look at MSNBC folks. THEY CARE ABOUT DIVERSITY!! Tamaron Hall, Rev Al Sharpton, Prof. Mellisa Harris-Perry, Toure, Karen Finney and now add Joy Reid (pic to the left) MSNBC has announced that Reid will have her own daily program starting soon!! THIS IS GREAT!! Joy Reid has done a great job on MSNBC as a guest on various programs so she has earned the right to have her own program.
Will Fox News FINALLY allow a African American to have their own program? It seems not. All they care about is having Sean Hannity clones over the air. Just like 710 ESPN here in Seattle, Fox News CAN CARE LESS about having a African American over the air with his or hers own program. This is a fact readers.
A perfect example of why a African American is needed over the air on sports radio and on TV is the Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman situation in which the word I HATE so much and that word is “thug” has been brought up time and time again.
I am VERY happy that my brotha Sherman broke it down to let “blind” I am sorry to say mostly white folks know that the word “thug” is a code word for “nigga”. We as African Americans already know this. Sherman discussed his so called interview with Erin Andrews all week. And today Seahawk Marshawn Lynch barely talked to the media at Press Day the Super Bowl in New Jersey. He did a short one on one interview with Hall of Famer Deion Sanders which I knew would happen.
MORE Sanders and more Stephen A. Smith’s and more Jerry Brewer’s and more Jason Whitlock’s and more Micheal Wilborn’s etc are needed over the air. And needed badly!! The time is now. It makes NO SENSE for sports radio 710 ESPN here in Seattle to have zero African Americans over the air on a regular basis. They should follow the lead of MSNBC. They care about the word….DIVERSITY!!
One thing is for sure readers, when you are in the public eye it is very very hard to keep a relationship going. It is worse when both are so called celebrities like NBA player or should I say right now ex-NBA player Lamar Odom and his wive Khoe Kardishian.
Come on folks they had a freakin reality program dealing with their relationship. I don’t know how it lasted as long as it did to be real with ya because Lamar was a NBA player who was never at home during the season. And you know other females were trying to get at Lamar on the road when Khoe was not around. It is the NBA way of life folks. Dealing with the females.
Then all of a sudden rumors came out about Odom and drugs and alcohol use. You would see pics of Lamar looking very skinny. He did not look good at all. So with all the rumors which Odom said was not true but it was obvious it was, Khoe stood in support of her husband.
This lady really stood behind her husband as long as she could and now the word is she cannot take this anymore and wants a divorce from Lamar Odom. This is kind of sad in my opinion folks. Because it seems they really loved each other. But with Lamar problems I guess Khoe could only take so much and had to move on. Lamar went to a drug program and dropped out. Real sad.
Now their are rumors that Khoe might be dating baseball star Matt Kemp. Man she ain’t messing around when it comes to dating rich sports stars right? Meanwhile Odom may be trying a comeback in the NBA. Rumors are a few teams may be interested. If you know about basketball you should know that Lamar is a very talented player who at 6-10 can dribble and shoot and rebound. He can play all five positions on the court. We will let you know if Lamar gets picked up by a NBA team. Gordon Curvey
Listen to the latest edition of “Music Inner City Radio” hosted by Gordon Curvey. Entertainment news and some sports news PLUS classic soul and classic hip-hop music and interviews from out “Music Inner City TV” program and more!
Again as I watch these awards shows from held in Hollywood. I see a problem. As do many many others like actress Ellen Pompeo. And the problem is the lack of diversity on these awards and in Hollywood period.
Miss Pompeo recently made comments regarding the Emmy Awards and the lack of diversity on the show. And she was 100% right. I watch the red carpet show and the main show and saw very few actors that were minorities who were interviewed by Ryan Seacrest and saw very few minorities were on the show as presenters. It was truly sad. LL Cool J and a few others. That’s it readers.
It is like African Americans and people of color are not in Hollywood working. What is going on with this? Truth be told Kerry Washington should have won best actress this year. It would have been the FIRST African American actress to win the best actress award at the Emmys. Let me repeat…the first! The legendary Dianne Carroll was nomainated years ago but did not win.
Readers are you going to tell me their was not more African American actresses who could have been nominated? No African American men were nominated! SAY WHAT? Are you going to tell me no African American men could have been qualified for a possible Emmy trophy? Give me a freakin break!
You see their is a problem where MORE good parts on TV are not being written for African Americans and people of color. Plus their is a problem in Hollywood sadly to say that 95% or even higher of the writers are no people of color so this a HUGE HUGE problem.
Kerry Washington is a beautiful and talented actress who should have won this year. PERIOD. Not only that she knocks ladies out with what she wears at these awards shows. And when she came out at the Emmys to announce a winner of a award, she came out with the legend Miss Carroll. It was great to see the legend come on stage with a young future legend. And Washington said she was truly excited to walk on stage with such a legendary African American actress in Carroll.
So readers what is going to be done about the lack of diversity on the red carpet award shows and the main program of the mainly award shows and what is going to be done about the lack of quality parts being written for African Americans and people of color in Hollywood and finally what is going to be done about the lack of minority writers. We will continue to follow this situation and write about it here on “M.I.C News Magazine”. Gordon Curvey
I watched the Miss America event the other day. With all the very beautiful and talented young ladies from all over the United States and it was a good program to watch.
People think you just have to be pretty to win but you have to have some real skills to really win and impress the judges. So many young ladies grow up with dreams of being Miss America or Miss Universe. They start be entering state events and if they happen to win they move to the larger events like Miss America.
So recently the beautiful Miss New York, Nina Davuliri won is the new Miss America. She is a very pretty lady and talented too. But sorry to say Nina has ran into the R word….racism. Because she is a Indian-American.
The new Miss America has received racist tweets online from viewers who do not like it that she is a Indian-American who won the Miss American event. This is truly truly sad readers. The question is why would viewers have a problem with her winning? She happens to be a beautiful Indian-American female who entered the event just like all the other ladies.
In my opinion people need to wake up!! This is America with a African American two term President of the United States and a First Lady who is African American and a Attorney General who is African American and on and on. It seems Davuliri is a very strong lady who has handled the stupid and racist and unfair tweets that sick people put online about Nina winning. And I hope the new Miss America will stay strong and be a great Miss America!
As many of you know I love music. I have produced “Music Inner City TV” for going on 23 years. I have met and interviewed flat out legends like James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Ernie Isley, Dionne Warwick, Ice Cube, Al Green, George Duke, Chaka Khan, Big Daddy Kane, Leon Huff, Rick James, Smokey Robinson and many others including media icon Oprah.
But I also have a passion for sports. When the Sonics left town it was like a family member died. I just cannot understand why we do not have a NBA team after 41 years of having a team. During those years I watched a guy who painted his hair etc but was one of the greatest players of all time and his name is Dennis Rodman.
Yes Rodman did weird things off the court during his time with the Pistons and Bulls and Spurs. He was one of the greatest rebounders of all time. Rodman thought every rebound was his. Players of today need to study his play on the court and learn from his passionate play on the court.
Dennis Rodman became famous all over the world and he became famous in a far away country like North Korea. It seems basketball is loved in this country. So because of that the President of the country, Kim Jong Un has somehow reached out to Rodman and Dennis has made trips to North Korea to visit and the President and Rodman have believe it or not become good friends.
Of course we here in the America are wondering big time how these two have formed a friendship when they seem as different as night and day. But it has happened though the game of basketball. This is a fact. The question is now what can happen between the two friends when it comes to the very very unfriendly relationship between the U.S. and North Korea.
It is a fact the U.S. media thinks Rodman is a stupid clown with no brains in his head. After Rodman’s latest trip to North Korea I saw a dude on CNN call Rodman a bunch of negative names during a interview with Jake Tapper. And Tapper himself made fun of Dennis.
But check this out did Tapper and his guest and others make fun of George Clooney and Angelina Jolie and others for making trips to unfriendly countries? HELL NO!! So why talk negative about Rodman? Is it fair? I say NO!!
But the question is readers should we take Rodman serious? He has made inroads to a country that we have zero relationships with and he has a open door to fly to North Korea and visit his new friend Kim Jong Un anytime he wants. By the way his favorite player is Micheal Jordan and he loves to watch American movies. Should we try to use Rodman to make waves and finally maybe President Obama and Kim Jong Un will talk about the problems between the two countries? Stranger things have happened readers.
Rodman wants to use the game of basketball to try to obtain a meeting or even a phone call between North Korea and the U.S. North Korea has asked Dennis to help train the North Korea national team and Rodman said yes. Let’s sit back and watch this relationship between Hall Of Famer Dennis Rodman and North Korea leader Kim Jong Un. I am NOT going to laugh at Rodman and call him negative names like others in the media are doing. I refuse to do it.
Yes North Korea seems to be a extremely poor nation whose citizens cannot even get a PC or laptop and get on the internet. Most citizens cannot own cell phone and on and on. Citizens cannot to a local theater and watch a movie etc. But hopefully things will change down the line. Strange as it may seem but maybe sports will break down a barrier in North Korea and their citizens and can finally enjoy the freedom we have in America.
As a TV producer for over twenty-two years I am very glad to see two entertainment vets getting in front camera with their TV talk shows that will air here in the Seattle area starting in September.
Returning to host his talk show again after leaving the “The Arsenio Hall Show” is…..Arsenio Hall and hosting a new talk show is former guest on Seattle’s own “Music Inner City TV” is actress/rapper/business lady Queen Latifah. This is great folks and I can’t wait until next month to see the new programs.
Of course if you are old enough to know Hall’s original program ran from 1989 to 1994. And it was a great program that gave PLENTY of urban artists a national platform to perform their music. I watched the program night after night. Hall made sure African American artists had a chance to perform because they were not invited on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” or “David Letterman” or other shows who were on then.
Hell even Presidential candidate Bill Clinton appeared on Arsenio’s program and played the sax and the program! Hall even had the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan on his program and many many others who you would NEVER see on Carson.
But Arsenio’s show was about inclusion not exclusion. That is why it was a very popular program. You saw people from sports, politics and entertainment fields.
Arsenio left the program in 1994 because he was just tired of doing the show. It was NOT THE RATINGS. He had made millions of dollars so he said…I’m gone. Some people say even today Hall is worth about 12 million. Since Arsenio left, their has not been a program like his on TV. Magic Johnson tried. And that might have been the worst program in the history of TV!! Real talk. Magic was great on the court but TERRIBLE as a talk show host!!
Recently comic George Lopez had a talk show on TV that I enjoyed. And he gave a lot of hip-hop/r&b artists a platform to play on national TV like Hall did but it seems the network Lopez was on DID NOT promote his program like they promoted the new Conan talk show and soon “Lopez Tonight” was gone after almost two years. Truly sad.
So let’s see how the new “Arsenio Hall” program does starting in September. And we will see how the new “Queen Latifah” talk show will do too also starting in September. As some of you may know, a few years ago I brought Latifah to visit the youth at Seattle’s Garfield High School. It was great and the youth really enjoyed seeing the big star at their school in person. It was great to see the smiles on the students faces at Garfield High School.
Latifah is a very well respected entertainer who I am sure can obtain some real big stars and even politicians and sports stars to appear on her new program. Her program I am sure will do well. At least I hope so. Again both programs start in September in all the major markets in America. We will keep you up to date with more information on both new programs.
I will tell you the truth folks. I am very upset at the decision in Florida in the George Zimmerman case in which he killed a unarmed young African American kid in 17 year old Trayvon Martin last year. He was found not guilty by a jury that included no African Americans.
First of all how did this case go to court with no African Americans around. This was wrong from the start. I watched the case everyday and was not happy with the lawyers supporting young Trayvon. Was not happy at all. Because how could they go day after day and not bring up race in the mix. They said it was not about race. WHAT!!! This is BS!! IT IS FLAT OUT ABOUT RACE!!
Young Trayvon was profiled by Zimmerman as a young African American thug with a hoodie on. Trayvon was walking to go watch the NBA All Star game and was stopped by Zimmerman. A neighborhood watch man who was told after calling the police NOT TO GET OUT HIS CAR TO STOP TRAYVON. But Zimmerman did not listen!
Soon a unarmed young boy was dead. Shot by the wannabe policeman Zimmerman. And now this dude is allowed to go home a free man after he was found not guilty. THIS IS WRONG READERS!! WRONG!!
It hurt me to see Zimmerman and his lawyers are happy as hell when the verdict was announced. Zimmerman parents of course was happy and Zimmermans friends and his lady was happy. Meanwhile Trayvon’s parents stayed away from the courtroom when the not guilty verdict was announced. Of course we know they are upset at the decision by the jury. There family lawyers are upset. And millions of others are upset too.
It looks like Zimmerman has got his gun back too. The gun he used to kill a unarmed boy! This is a outrage!! But readers don’t think it is over for George Zimmerman. It is not. It looks like civil charges might be brought up on him. Civil rights leaders like Rev Al Sharpton and Rev Jesse Jackson and the leaders from the NAACP and Urban League and other groups are leading the battle to see that George Zimmerman pays for killing Trayvon Martin.
We will have more stories and information regarding the unjust not guilty verdict for George Zimmerman.
I knew it was coming readers. I have been waiting to read about Bruce Jenner and his comments on the relationship between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West and it has happened.
The question is this. Is it for ratings for their popular reality programs? I say yes. Jenner has went public on his feelings about West not “being around” the family etc. He says he has only met West once. The question is folks is why is Jenner going public with stuff? Do we really care if Kanye has only met Jenner once or twenty times. Truth be told I don’t give a damn! And you should not care too. This is all about the reality show readers.
To me this is something that should be kept in the Kardashian household. If I was West and Kim I would be mad as hell at Jenner for going public about his feeling on West and how many times he has met him. Is Jenner trying to make West look like a bad person or something? It seems that is the case when you check the above story.
I think Jenner is way out of line for going public about West. Again it is something that should be kept in house. That is why I think it is all about a topic for a up and coming program for their reality show. Come on folks, you know I am right. Gordon Curvey
Today is a beautiful sunny Easter Day here in Seattle, Washington. I go to my laptop to read the news as I always do and went to the Seattle Times’s site and saw news of more violence where people are pulling out guns and then all hell breaks out and three people are dead.
This follows a shooting last week where another person was shot and killed. The shooting where three young people was killed happened in Auburn which is near Seattle. It happened at a sports bar. As you see in the pic from the Times you see crying relatives or parents or friends knowing that someone in their family was killed or injured on or before Easter Day. This is another family that will see a young person dying and dying way to young. Way to young.
Here is a question. How come this violence has to happen? How come folks can’t go and have a good time and get in their rides and GO HOME??? Why is it certain folks want to solve things by pulling out guns? When you do this it can only lead to death a terrible injury or big time jail time. In my opinion as a older cat when ever I hear of another young person dying to senseless violence it is like a family member of mine died too. I feel terrible. And ANYONE reading this should feel sad like I do.
As the Producer of Seattle’s own Music Inner City TV, I have for more than 22 years asked EVERYONE to give advice to young people about staying in school and stopping the violence in the streets and other things geared towards young folks. From Oprah Winfrey or Micheal Jordan to a local artist, I ask them to give their advice. Their is TO MANY YOUNG PEOPLE DYING IN THE STREETS OF AMERICA!!
Keep in mind, there a little baby that was shot and killed recently in Chicago due to senseless violence! Soon readers young people will have nowhere to go and have fun and hang out so then what will happen? More violence? I am trying to figure this out. Back in the day if a person got angry or something a fist fight would happen. But not these days. Cats are pulling out the 9′s and firing like they are on Gunsmoke on TV. Something is wrong.
As President Obama is saying. Too many guns are in the streets of America. Something has to be done. The NRA and right/Republican Party needs to stop fight the President on this issue and come to the freakin table with the President!! If not, we will hear about more people dying like the killings in Auburn, Washington and else where in America. THE VIOLENCE HAS TO STOP. My prayers go out this Easter Day to the family or relatives of the folks killed and injured in the Auburn violence. WE HAVE TO STOP THE VIOLENCE AND INCRESE THE PEACE IN AMERICA!! As you know people and families have to try to put food on the fridge, gas in their cars and have to pay their bills every month. And those people include the paparazzi in Hollywood and New York and other cities. Those of you who don’t know what that is. That is folks who take photos of stars etc to sell to the many magazines and now online outlets all over the world.
A lot entertainers do not have a problem with the paparazzi and love to get their photos taken where ever they are at. And others do not like it when the paparazzi is following them EVERY WHERE. And I mean every where!!
One star who is having a huge problem is Justin Bieber. This cat cannot go to the bathroom without hundreds of folks trying to take a pic. And in his opinion and mine, it has got out of hand. And it seems Justin is getting fed up and at times is fighting back at the paparazzi. The other day overseas he went off on the paparazzi as he and his bodyguards tried to enter his SUV.
With Bieber being such a huge star right now it is a big problem that is getting worse when it comes to him being out in the public. He cannot do anything. Cannot go the beach, cannot go out to have dinner. Cannot go to Burger King for a burger etc. Bieber is a 19 year old fella. This is a problem that comes with being such a worldwide superstar. And sorry to say, when it comes to Bieber it is what happens when you become a superstar. He should not have become a singer and just grew up as a regular teen. But he decided to be a entertainer. So sorry Justin you just have to try to handle the paparazzi the best way you can without getting violent. But it has got out of hand.
Also actor Alex Baldwin has had many problem with the paparazzi. And he has fought with them over and over. He of course is not a worldwide star as Bieber is but he still has problems when he tries to go to dinner with his lady etc. It is a known fact Baldwin does not like the paparazzi.
Other stars like Rihanna and Beyoncé and Usher etc seem to not have problems with the paparazzi. You never hear about other big stars like them having problems. But for sure you hear about Chris Brown and Justin Bieber and Alex Baldwin and others having problems with the paparazzi. So it is a problem because like I said, the paparazzi are trying to make money. Just like Bieber and Baldwin are. Who wins readers?

We are proud to say that “Music Inner City TV/Online” was in the building in Los Angeles for the 2013 Grammy Awards in the Staples Center and the legendary Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Yours truly and my sponsor Al Moton obtained as many interviews as we could at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party’s red carpet and I think we did a good job in asking the stars to speak to our audience in Seattle and Western Washington state on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand. We air 24-7. Go to “get local” and then “around the sound”
Among the stars we interviewed was Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, Akon, “Access Hollywood” host the very fine Shaun Robinson, Brandy, Gayle King, Future, New England Patroits owner Robert Kraft, 49er QB Colin Kaepernick and more! (pic of yours truly in front of the Lakers/Clippers store/Staples Center in Los Angeles).
If you did not know myself and Twin Tammy J (Tammy Jackson-Cloy), was in L.A. last year when the legendary icon Whitney Houston passed away. So this year we asked the stars how they felt about the one year since Whitney passed plus of course we asked the stars to give advice to young people watching and listening to our program.
And we was posted up backstage in the media room for the Grammys. I did a lot of networking and meeting new people in the media from all over the U.S. To me it is not work when I attend these these events. It is fun!! And I thank god we are allowed to cover the events for our audience. This is real talk!!
So look forward to watching our programs from L.A. in a few weeks on Seattle’s own “Music Inner City TV”. Gordon Curvey

I don’t know about you readers but I am getting kind of tired of reading about producer/director Spike Lee talking negative about fellow film makers in Hollywood. He needs to stop in my opinion.
To me it is childish on Lee’s part to blast other producers and directors such as Quentin Tarantino and Tyler Perry.
It is nothing new for Lee to put Tarantino on blast. He has done it before. And of course Lee has talked very very nagative on the “Madea” films that has made millions and millions of dollars for Tyler Perry.
Now Lee says he will not go see the latest Tarantino film that stars former guest on Seattle’s own “Music Inner City TV” Jamie Foxx “Dajano: Unchained” To me it is stupid and crazy on Lee’s part to say that. For me, truth be told I am waiting for the movie to hit on Comcast-On Demand. I don’t want to sit and watch a two hour and fourty-eight movie in the theater. It is not because I don’t to see the movie like Lee.
It will be interesting to see how Lee feels when a producer/director talks negative about one of his future films. That will be very interesting readers. Again I hope Lee will stop hatin on other film makers. It is only fair.
“Music Inner City Radio” new program . Topics include Meek Mill, Kim K. & Kanye and more including classic soul and classic hip-hop music. Grab your headphones and enjoy the show!! Happy New Year from Music Inner City Entertainment!
Tonight I was on the net looking for good stories for “M.I.C News Magazine” and BAM I came across a story that made me very happy and also very sad because I have been waiting for a major story on the racism in the tech world.
If you read the story above and if you are a African American like me with two websites that is getting a lot of traffic every day but need help to really became a major player you might get a little depressed. I work very very hard to bring to the table two nice websites with good stories and issues here on this sites. My sports site “Sports Inner City Online” at www.sportsinnercity.com. But I want to make money with my two sites. Just like many whites and asians.
I have tried to reach out to a group of fellas here in the Seattle area for instance who have a website called Geekwire (www.geekwire.com) and they also have a radio show. I asked them to do a possible story on what I am trying to do and they gave me the cold shoulder and did nothing for me and to be truthful, it was racism.
These same fellas help to put on tech events etc in the Seattle area. The people who attend these events are almost 100% white. I see the pics of the events and watch the web shows online and see zero black faces. The price to go to these events are also high so a lot of African Americans or people of color may not can afford to attend.
Recently I tried again to reach out to the fellas at Geekwire about maybe helping me with a story or maybe introducing me to people in the tech world who might can help me. The did not respond to my emails or calls. So it seems I am running into racism like a lot of African Americans have suffered.
I been watching a program named “Bloomberg West” on Bloomberg TV almost EVERY night for the last year. The program features information and stories about the tech world and business world. It is broadcast from San Francisco near the tech capitol of the U.S. The Silicon Valley.
There has been a grand total of only two African Americans I have seen on the program in a year. TWO. It is like African Americans are a complete no show in the tech world or Silicon Valley. Just whites and asians. That’s it folks. Something is very wrong. It is racism.
I want to try to be a tech entrepreneur. My sports site “Sports Inner City Online” is one of only a few “urban” sports websites on the Internet. Covering people of color in the sports world. I need a angel investor or other types of help so I can take the site to where it can a success. But I think I am running into racism. I need to be a guest on “Bloomberg West” or have a story done on my sites by Geekwire.
In my opinion if a possible angel investor would look at what I am trying to do, they would invest. Remember both of my websites are spinoffs of my TV show “Music Inner City TV” which has been on the air for 22 years here in Washington state. We are on Comcast-Xfinity On-Demand 24 hours a day.
It is time for people like me who are African American and have dreams of being a tech entrepreneur and make millions of dollars like many white folks and Asians to get help along the way. Racism in the tech world is real folks. Now is the time for people in the Silicon Valley and even here in my area to realize this and let’s work together to try to solve this problem of racism in the tech world or the problem will continue to get worse and worse. I don’t know about you but I think it is way too soon to have a reality show featuring the late great Whitney Houston’s family. Of course that includes Whitney’s daughter 19 year old Bobby Krintina. Known as Krissi on the show.
It has been less than a year ago when Houston died of a drug overdose in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles and a reality show already? I am sorry folks I have a problem with this. Is it about money? Why would Whitney’s mom Sisssy Houston, who is also a great singer agree to do a reality show when her daughter just passed last February? They should still be getting over the death of Whitney, in my opinion in private.
But they decided to let everyone see what the Houston family is going though since Whitney died. I have watched the first two shows and I don’t like what I have seen. It shows me that the Houston famiily should be very concerned about young Bobbi. It seems she is doing a lot of what her famous late mom did and that is drinking. It seems Whitney’s sister in law and brother are getting concerned about Bobbi Kristina.
Also the reality show is giving the world a chance to see Bobbi Kristina being in love and in a love affair with Whitney’s GODSON!!! I am not lying folks. This is real talk. This is crazy. Bobbi is really in love with this dude. Say what????? I wonder how Bobbi Kristina’ daddy singer Bobby Brown feels about this?
Speaking of Bobby Brown, he just checked himself into rehab again for his drinking problems. Keep in mind that Whitney had a drug and drinking problem and now it seems Bobbi is drinking and her dad has a drinking problem. It is not good for Bobbi who is still getting over the loss of her loving mom.
So in ending I just think a Houston reality show is just not needed and I am totally shocked that the family agreed to do it. By the way Bobbi is going to get a lot of money from her mom. $20 million fromher mom’s estate. She will get $2 million when she turns 21 and the rest when she turns 25 and 30 years of age.
I watched the 2012 Emmys last night and was very upset at what I saw readers. I watched only TWO African Americans nominated for a award. Don Cheadle and Maya Rudolph. Only two. What is going on?
And of course Cheadle and Rudolph did not win a Emmy. Readers you cannot tell me that more African American actors were worthy of being nominated or winning a Emmy this year. Something is very wrong. First of all a question needs to be asked are African American actors being offered top of the line roles in Hollywood. I am talking about on TV and the big screen.
I guess I will answer that question. African Americans are not being offered good parts to play on TV. Pure and simple. I guess it would help if more African Americans were in a position to offer roles for African Americans in Hollywood.
The red carpet show on E I guess was a preview to the 2012 Emmys because Ryan Seacrest and his crew ONLY interviewed ONE African American actor during the two hour program. That was it. The rest was of course white. It is like African Americans are not on TV or in Hollywood so I am here to say something big time is wrong on TV and in Hollywood.
African Americans need to demand to obtain more good roles to play on TV and on the big screen. If you watched last night Emmys it was the almost total exclusion of African American or black faces. This is wrong. This is unfair. Gordon Curvey
