“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
I do not think my home town of Seattle, Washington get enough ink in the media and over the air regarding all the talent from here doing well in the NBA.
S.I. did a great story on all the player from Seattle and surburbs who are in the NBA a few months ago.
That article I am sure made more sports fans aware of the basketball talent coming from the city of Seattle.
Having said that, a big shout out to the Atlanta Hawks Jamal Crawford who won the NBA “Sixth Man” award and to the Houston Rockets Aaron Brooks who won “Most Improved” for thr 2009-10 season.
Crawford went to Rainier Beach High and Brooks went to Franklin High. The schools are rivals here in Seattle and Jason Terry of the Mavericks also went to Franklin. And the Celtics Nate Robinson went to Rainier Beach and Brandon Roy went to Garfield High. There are about 13 players in the NBA from Seattle area and suburbs.
We hope to do interviews many of the Seattle NBA players this summer so look out for that.

I Have a Problem With Programs On TBS

“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
As a African American I AM TIRED OF TBS AIRING THESE SITCOMS WITH A AFRICAN AMERICAN CAST IN A COMEDY.
TBS already airs “Amos and Andy” look-a-like programs produced by Tyler Perry and now here comes “Are We There Yet” produced by former guest on Seattle’s Music Inner City TV, Ice Cube.
Why is it we are doing these comedies with African Americans acting like clowns and buffoons?
What about a program or series with a African American cast IN A WEEKLY DRAMA!!! What about that readers? I will not watch one more minute of “Meet The Browns” and the other Perry produced shows.
It is flat out embarrasing to see these clowns so called acting like “colored folks” of “darkies” in the 1920’s Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Steppin Fetchin type movies/programs.
Ice Cube has been on my show three times as a legendary rapper. I wish my brotha can produce a drama on TBS, instead of a ANOTHER comedy with a all African American cast. IT IS BADLY NEEDED IN MY STRONG OPINION!!!

FOLLOW UP: Mo’Nique Says Her Brother Lied
Posted on 23 April 2010 by curvey in Featured, Much More
ARTICLE FROM s2smagazine.com (Full story click here)

As you know I have written my feelings on the sad story regarding Oscar winner Mo’Nique and the relationship with her brother Gerald.
And this is a sad story. I watched Mo’Nique’s brother on Oprah the other day and I was shocked at this program and the information that has come out for the world to know regarding Gerald’s sexual contacts with his sister when they were young.
Gerald said said all the normal stuff about being sorry etc. And Oprah asked tough questions to him. But what I took out of the show is this.
If you watched Mo’Nique get her Golden Globe and Critics Choice and Oscar Awards, she came off as a dynamic wonderful African American lady with a lot of opinions.
And if watch her program on BET, she is always giving advice etc. I think she needs to chill out with the advice and try to repair her relationship with her elderly mom and dad who also was on the Oprah show.
MoNique has not talked to her mom or dad IN YEARS!! I am sorry readers, NO MATTER WHAT she needs to stop trying to be Miss Goody Two Shoes with advice to all her guests and work on trying to repair her relationship with her mom and dad.
We were not their to see how Gerald made sexual contact with her sister how her parents handled it. But they did not know it happened.
And if Gerald told lies on Oprah, he was wrong. BUT Mo’Nique is wrong for not talking to her elderly parents. You only have one dad and one mom.

BREAKING NEWS: Rap/Hip-Hop Legend Guru Passes Away
Posted on 20 April 2010 by curvey in Featured, Hip-Hop/R&B
ARTICLE FROM chicagotribune.com (Full story click here)
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
Rap/Hip-Hop legend Guru has passed away from cancer at 43. Guru was a guest on Seattle’s Music Inner City three times over the years.
A friend of mine, Walt Atkinson was one of his favorite fans. And he was one of my favorite artists too. Guru and DJ Premier formed a dynamic duo in the rap/hip-hop world.
They formed the group Gangstarr and put down many hits over the years in their own great way. They had their own style. When you turned on the radio you knew who they were right away if you knew about urban music.
A lot of young artists need to study video of Guru and Gangstarr. They were vets who knew how to entertain a crowd unlike many artists of today.
Every time I interviewed Guru it was a great interview. Sorry to say I lost my interviews with Guru in my terrible fire I had a few years ago. But I have the memories of myself kickin it with a true legend….Guru.
Hey Guru, thanks for all the great music you left us and thanks for all the interviews you did with M.I.C-TV. R.I.P bro.
Will be playing videos of Guru in the next M.I.C-TV/Radio.

Mo’Nique’s Brother Admits To Molesting Her On Oprah

ARTICLE FROM oprah.com (Full story click here)
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
This is a very very interesting story I just learned about at former guest on “Music Inner City TV” Oprah’s website.
Regarding the brother of Oscar winner comedian/actress Mo’Nique who admitted to molesting her when she was a young girl. This is a shame readers.
Can you imagine this cat keeping this inside of him for a long long time? And also for Mo’Nique to keep this inside of her for a long long time also. I know this was very very hard on the both of them.
As many of you know, Oprah has said she was also molested when she was younger so I guess Oprah can relate big time to Mo’Nique.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with this story and the relationship between Mon’Nique and her brother.

Shaq O’Neal Wants To Shut Down “Basketball Wife’s” On VH1
Posted on 14 April 2010 by curvey in Featured, Much More
ARTICLE FROM nicolebitchie.com (Full story click here)
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
I watched the first show of “Basketball Wive’s” on VH1 and was very disappointed. To me it was a program about a bunch of gold diggers who have the nerve to get on national TV and bash their ex husbands.
One so called female was a for real clown dancing at this “How Lo Can You Go” event by Ludacris. She was drunk and acted a for real fool.
Here is the thing that bothers me about this program. These ex wife’s of NBA players or ex NBA players left these females with plenty of cash, so why would they bash there ex’s on this program?
Also I am tired of seeing “motor mouth” sistas on these reality shows. Talking about how “cute” men are and how much cash they have and cars they drive.
Another reality show “Let’s Talk About Pep” is the same thing. Motor mouth sistas talking about how cute this man etc.
Yo readers, how come the fella has to be “Mr. Handsome” or god’s gift” Why not a normal dude that treats the lady like a lady should be treated? He may not be the best looking cat around just a real nice man? Think about it.
But Big Shaq O’Neal is saying enough is enough and wants to shut down production of this program.

Winfrey Plans New Night Time Show On Her New Network

ARTICLE FROM seattletimes.com (Full story click here)
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
Former guest on Seattle’s Music Inner City TV, media icon Oprah Winfrey plans to have her own nighttime program on her own new network OWN. The new network starts next year.
OWN will be in 80 million possible homes on cable. Her legendary program “Oprah” will end next year before the new network starts.
It is going to be very interesting to see what happens to Winfrey’s new network and how the different programs will do. We all know most of the things she does turns to gold. I am sure this will too.
Oprah being a African American female, will surely have a diversity of programs on OWN. Unlike every other cable network besides Black Entertainment Network.
In the almost 20 years of doing “Music Inner City TV” I feel getting the one on one interview with Oprah was
my top interview over James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Chaka Khan and other legends. Because of the positive things Oprah and her people said about my program. Winfrey and her producers do not do anything without checking backgrounds and they found out about the positive things we have done in the Seattle area and decided we would obtain a interview with the Big O. (pic of Oprah and myself to the right)
We will continue to give you breaking news on the new OWN network RIGHT HERE on “Music Inner City News Magazine”
Starting this week please watch out new pre-recorded “Ustream TV shows. Every other day we will have new recorded Ustream TV shows with underground music videos that will not see on BET or VH1 or MTV. Plus urban sports news/entertainment news and more.
Just click “pre-recorded Ustream TV” link at the top of our home page and enjoy! Plus we will have cd giveaways and more!!
Plus watch the latest entertainment news from MTV RIGHT HERE!!
Coming up soon on MIC-TV is a EXCLUSIVE with Snoop Dogg’s mom and aunt. Evangelist Beverly Broudous Green and Erma “Dena” Varnado and the son of legend Stevie Wonder, Mumtez Morris!!

Why Does Rev Sharpton Go On Glenn Beck’s Program?
Posted on 07 April 2010 by curvey in Featured, Politics
“One Man’s Opinion” by Gordon Curvey
I just saw Rev. Al Sharpton on Fox News and the Glenn Beck program. I quickly said to myself very quickly why would Rev. Sharpton go on Beck’s program? Then again it seems Rev Sharpton is on everyone’s program. Is he trying to lead or is he trying to be a celebrity?
Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham and others are the reason their is so much hate against the left and so much hate against President Obama. GLENN BECK IS ONE OF THE LEADERS OF THE TEA PARTY FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!
It seems to me Rev Sharpton loves to jump on MSNBC, loves to jump on CNN and for some godly reason, loves to jump on Fox News.
Is it because he loves to be seen on national TV and be seen? What the heck is it? It kind of bothers me when I see Rev Sharpton over and over and over again on Fox News and CNN and MSNBC. But what bothers me the most is Rev Sharpton on Hannity’s show and Beck’s show.
Both of those fellas blast Rev Sharpton and Rev Jesse Jackson and of course President Obama at will when ever they can. So again, why would Rev Sharpton continue to go on their programs?
Beck and Hannity on a everyday basis call President Obama a “socialist” a “radical” and constantly talk about President Obama’s “radical” friends.
To me, I think Rev Sharpton loves to see himself on National TV with his very nice suits on his hair looking nice.
When I turn on the TV and see Rev. Sharpton posted up on Glenn Beck’s show knowing how he is treating our President and other people of color I have a problem. Remember Beck called President Obama “a racist”. I guess Rev Sharpton has forgot issues like this in order to be seen on national TV.
I respect Rev Sharpton for standing up for issues regarding people of color. I really do, but on this issue, I do not support him at all.
