Lately I noticed a lot of positive press on Clifford Harris aka T.I. and this is a good thing. Because for awhile it was nothing but negative when it came to the rapper, actor and business owner.
He has got a pretty long rap sheet when it comes to breaking the law but it seems he has learned his lesson after his last visit to the pen. He is trying to be a great father to his kids and a role model for other kids and is trying to make his company Grand Hustle something to deal with in music, tv and in Hollywood.
T.I. (pic with our own Seattle Mariner hat on) has shown on his reality show on TV with his wive Tiny that he does not want to be a father his kids do not know. He is a caring dad to his kids and it seems he has a great relationship with Tiny who he has been with a long time.
With a lot of hip-hop these days sounding the same, when you hear a joint by T.I. you know it is T.I. He is one of my favorite hip-hop artists for sure. He has a new cd coming out soon and like the rest of his past cd’s it will sell big time because T.I. knows how to put out hits. That’s for sure. And he is a good actor too unlike many other rappers who try to act in Hollywood. He can really act. If you have seen his acting you will agree.
And it seems he is doing a lot in the community with toy giveaways at Xmas and turkey giveaways at Thanksgiving and he recently said he would not let a daughter of his date Chris Brown if they were old enough to date Brezzy. We all know what Brown did to Rihanna. That was a great statement.
So a big shout out to T.I. for getting his stuff together on the behalf of his family and fans. The future looks good for him in music and in Hollywood. Gordon Curvey

I watched the 2012 Emmys last night and was very upset at what I saw readers. I watched only TWO African Americans nominated for a award. Don Cheadle and Maya Rudolph. Only two. What is going on?
And of course Cheadle and Rudolph did not win a Emmy. Readers you cannot tell me that more African American actors were worthy of being nominated or winning a Emmy this year. Something is very wrong. First of all a question needs to be asked are African American actors being offered top of the line roles in Hollywood. I am talking about on TV and the big screen.
I guess I will answer that question. African Americans are not being offered good parts to play on TV. Pure and simple. I guess it would help if more African Americans were in a position to offer roles for African Americans in Hollywood.
The red carpet show on E I guess was a preview to the 2012 Emmys because Ryan Seacrest and his crew ONLY interviewed ONE African American actor during the two hour program. That was it. The rest was of course white. It is like African Americans are not on TV or in Hollywood so I am here to say something big time is wrong on TV and in Hollywood.
African Americans need to demand to obtain more good roles to play on TV and on the big screen. If you watched last night Emmys it was the almost total exclusion of African American or black faces. This is wrong. This is unfair. Gordon Curvey
Read about the terrible call made in the Monday Night Football game here in Seattle between the Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. It was the worst call I have ever seen in a sports event. Go to “Sports Inner City Online” www.sportsinnercity.com
I am shocked and saddened today because the person who inspired me to start a TV program named “Music Inner City TV” more than twenty one years ago, Don Cornelius has died at age 75 of a possible suicide.
Word is Cornelius was very sick maybe with cancer. He has not looked to well in recent years. At the BET Awards a few years ago Don had trouble reading the teleprompter to announce the next performer in a tribute to the legendary O’Jays.
As a kid I stood in front of my mirror with a pencil in my hand trying to be like Don Cornelius hosting “Soul Train” He is the main reason I came up with the idea of “Music Inner City TV” in 1990 here in Seattle. And here it is 21 years later I am still producing the show. But it is all because of the legendary Don Cornelius.
And I had a chance to tell Don that he was my “idol” a few years ago at a event in L.A. That was a thrill to tell him in his face that I started my TV show because of him. God willing “M.I.C-TV” will be around as long as “Soul Train”
Thanks Don for what you did for me and for r&b music. When the word legend is used it for sure is used when we discuss……Don Cornelius. Rest in peace my brotha. Gordon Curvey
“Music Inner City Radio” podcast is coming soon right here!
I have been watching the Iowa caucus coverage on TV and listening to the these Republicans say over and over that is “Time to take our country back” Readers what in the hell that this mean? Take it back from what?
This has been said over and over since President Barack Obama first stepped foot in the White House as our President of The United States. Do the far right and Republicans mean take it back from the first African American president of the U.S? I think so. No I know so.
Remember the Republicans are doing EVERY THING to make President Obama a one term president. Every thing readers. It is ashame what the right are saying about our president. Dirty low down stuff. Below the belt stuff. It is wrong.
They refuse to say ANYTHING positive regarding President Obama. NOTHING. Not only that, these conservatives REFUSE to call President Obama ….President. They will call him “Obama” or “Barack Obama” but not President Obama. This is planned folks by the leaders of the tea party and conservatives and the right. It is VERY disrespectful of President Obama. Hosts and reporters do the same. They refuse to call the president……President Obama.
And what in the hell is “conservative values” Don’t understand readers. And where do the Republicans find these Negros……I mean African Americans who call themselves conservatives? And heck, these guys blast President Obama worst than anyone! Real talk. Cats like Herman Cain and J.C Watts and Micheal Steele.
I am asking the supporters of President Barack Obama to STAND UP! The time is now! The 2012 election season has officially started today with the Iowa caucus. I am going to have more articles here on “Music Inner City News Magazine” to show my support of the re-election of President Obama.
If you was a fan of the “Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air” you know it was a very very funny program that made Will Smith a superstar and a household name. I watch the re-runs on TV and it is still a funny program.
Smith was a big time rapper with his childhood homie Jazzy Jeff and they won Grammys for their music led by their monster hit, “Parents Just Don’t Understand”. A TV program was started just for him and it blew up and sorry to say, when that happens……the haters show up.
This time the hater was a person that was a part of the doggone program, Janet Hubert. For years she has went public putting Will Smith on blast and has even written a book of her experiences on the program. The female has a damn problem and you know what it is readers? JEAOLOUSY!!!! Pure and simple.
What Ms Hubert has failed to see FOR YEARS is that “THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR” WAS A PROGRAM MADE FOR WILL SMITH!!! He was the star. JANET HUBERT WAS NOT THE STAR! For some unknown reason she continues to blast Will in very negative ways in the public. This time calling him a “asshole”
She left the program because she wanted more money like she was the damn star of the show! Funny things is you do not hear or see other members of the cast blasting Big Willy. It is ONLY Janet.
She needs to get over her jealous feelings against Will. Smith is most likely worth $500 million, what is Janet Hubert worth? Where has her career gone? I don’t like to blast my African American brothas and sistas here on “Music Inner City News Magazine”
BUT I am just TIRED of reading articles about Janet Hubert talking negative about Will Smith!! Will Smith is a Hollywood mega-star and she is not. She should move on with her career and leave Smith alone. Gordon Curvey
Last night after downing some more Thanksgiving food in my tummy, I flipped on to NBA-TV for the latest news on the NBA lockout. Because I knew the players and owners were meeting in New York.
And BAM! Breaking news! A tentative settlement has been reached between the players and owners. As a basketball junky I am happy as hell that the sport I love is coming back. The NBA is the #1 sport for me as a sports fan followed by football and baseball.
When the NBA season ends I get depressed as a sports fan. Real talk. And of course being here in Seattle, our Sonics left town for the one horse dust town Oklahoma City so I have to follow the many players from the Seattle area playing in the NBA like Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Jason Terry, Brandon Roy, Spencer Hawes and many more.
If every thing goes right, training camp and free agent movement will start December 9th and the NBA season will FINALLY start on Xmas Day with a great triple header. The Knicks vs. Celtics, Lakers vs Bulls and a NBA finals matchup with the champ Mavs vs Heat.
Here is the thing readers. Why in the HELL did it take the owners and players this long to work this out? I just do not understand it. They had been having meetings for two years. Crazy folks.
But anyway I am just glad the NBA is back and I can sit in front of my big screen and enjoy the best atheletes in the world. Yes it is just a 66 game season. But guess what? A 66 game season is better than no season.

We have seen young Diggy Simmons grow up from a little kid to a young man because of watching him on TV for years on “Run’s House”
Of course his father is the legendary Rev. Run of the group Run D.M.C. Rev. Run has done a great job in bringing up his kids. A great job. Some think Rev. Run’s kids are spoiled brats. I do not think that at all.
It seems to me Rev. Run made his kids get a good education in school and has brought up his kids to want to work hard when they get older. Diggy Simmons has grown up and has worked hard to make a name for himself in hip-hop.
Yes for sure doors was opened up for Diggy because of who his daddy is but truth be told young Diggy Simmons has skills. Real talk. He really does.
Here is a question. If you watched “Run’s House” you will know that Diggy Simmons big brother JoJo is also a rapper but we have not heard from JoJo regarding his music. Maybe we will one day. In the meantime, shout out to Diggy Simmons and we will be playing his videos soon on Seattle’s own “Music Inner City TV” Gordon Curvey
Watch “Music Inner City Ustream TV” right here!! Every Friday night at 9pm to 10pm Pacific Time and midnight Eastern time. Playing urban music videos, exclusive interviews and more LIVE from Seattle, Washington.
Last night I watched the first edtion of the VH1 new show “Single Ladies”. The stars of the new show are Lisa Raye and Stacy Dash. The show is produced by former guest on Seattle’s “Music Inner City TV” Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit.
It is ANOTHER show with a motor mouth African American female. This time Lisa Raye. Dash is not a motor mouth on the show. At least not as “loud” as Lisa Raye.
Oh by the way, Lisa wants EVERYONE to say Lisa Raye not Raye or Lisa! So on the program Lisa Raye is a loud mouth sista who ONLY deals with brothas with big cash, big cars and is as handsome as hell in her book. She is that way in real life too.
You can say the same for the motor mouth sistas on “Basketball Wife’s”. On that show sistas are just flat out LOUD. Using the worse language on earth. Snapping their necks from side to side, fingers in the face, and yes fighting takes place.
Here is the problem readers in my opinion. A lot of white folks think this is the way most black ladies act all the time. Loud mouths, cussing etc. It is a huge problem. Why does it have to be this way?
Stacy Dash is much less calmer on “Single Ladies” than Lisa Raye. At least on the first show. Right after “Single Ladies” came “Basketball Wifes” and all hell broke out between the so called ladies. To me it is embarrasing readers.
Of course not all black females are loud and cuss every other word. But if you watch a lot of these shows on VH1 etc you see nothing but motor mouth and loud black females. Something has to change.
If a lot of us complain then things will change. Why not more love stories between a black man and a lady on TV? Where is it? I don’t see it on TV. It needs to happen and happen NOW.

I know you have seen actor Charlie Sheen all over the place the past week. On CNN, ABC, NBC, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, radio shows, online interviews and more. Charlie here and Charlie there.
If you noticed Charlie, his eyes were rolling all over the place. That is the drugs he has taken doing that folks and that is for sure. The cats has some real problems. And I hope he receives help before it is too late.
Sheen who is demanding $3 million a show for starting in “Two And A Half Men” Is already making $2 million a program readers!! I cannot believe this cat asking for that amount of cash when people our out here trying to put food on the table, gas nearing $4.00 a gallon in their calls and trying to pay their bills. The drugs has fried his brains folks.
The program is off the air because of Sheen. People are not working because of him. This is crazy. Now his cute little kids have been taken from him. Dude has two young females trying to act like a mommy to Cheen’s kids. In the hood it looks like Charlie was “pimpin” Why on earth would he have two strange females, one of which was a female who used to make porn, take care of little twins?
It is a terrible and sad Hollywood story. One of many. Is Charlie Sheen heading for a terrible ending of his life? Will his kids ever know the real daddy? Will his TV return to the air? Will CBS give Sheen $3 million a program? Stayed tuned. Gordon Curvey
If you go to some of the “urban” sites on the net you most likely have saw a story or two about the situation between comedian and radio and TV host Steve Harvey’s ex wife and current wife. It is real strange.
It started when Harvey’s ex wife Mary putting a series of three You Tube videos out discussing the possible cheating on her with other ladies while they were married.
She went on and spoke out more on You Tube and other outlets. Now Harvey’s current wife, Marjorie is tired of the actions by Mary and wants to sue Mary. I am sorry to say this could get ugly.
Meanwhile, Harvey went on his radio show and said he did not cheat on his ex wife and is
wondering why she is coming out with so called dirt years after they broke up. I totally agee with Steve.
Mary Harvey has come out and said she is broke. In my opinion she is a jealous female who has noticed that Harvey a solid career with a radio show, TV show and has had two best selling books.
Again, as a outsider I don’t understand why Mary Harvey has waited years after she left Harvey to go on You Tube and put Steve on blast. I don’t understand it at all other than one word……jealous. Gordon Curvey

To know one’s surprise, media icon and former guest on Seattle’s “Music Inner City TV” Oprah Winfrey tops the list of powerful celebrities replacing last years winner, Angelina Jolie according to Forbes.
Ms. O is closing down her legendary TV next year and will starting HER OWN NETWORK!! The O.W.N. She is developing news shows for network right now.
It seems everything Oprah touches turn to gold. Heck, all she has to do is pick out a new book, talk about it on her show and it a best seller.
Not only that news business owner have received the “Oprah Touch” with her discussing the new idea or product on her show and BAM!!! they sell out and their phones are ringing off the hook with sells.
Only Oprah Winfrey can do that. Of course we will keep you informed on Oprah’s news network right here on “Music Inner City News Magazine” One of only a few or maybe the ONLY local program of it’s type in the U.S. who can say we interviewed Oprah Winfrey!!!

Child actor Gary Coleman died at the young age of 42 in Utah where he was living. Coleman had a lot of health programs growing up as a child and also had other problems.
Gary and Todd Bridges and Dana Plato starred on the show “Different Strokes” back in the day and the show was a big hit and made Coleman a household name. He and Bridges made a big name for themselves when Gary would say to Bridges “What you takin about Willis?”
Coleman had problems with his parents who he thought was spending his money he earned as a child. Of course he could not spend any of the money until he got of age.
It seems the show “Different Strokes” was cursed. Coleman had problems with his health and other problems. Bridges got hooked big time on crack and even sold it and spent time in jail. And Plato had serious drug problems and it took her life with a drug overdose. By the way, her son just recently committed suicide.
Bridges was just on Oprah and other talk shows because he wrote a book on his life as a child actor and his drug problems and other problems he had growing up.
And now Gary Coleman has died at a young age of 42. We at “Music Inner City” say rest in peace Gary and thanks for the laughs you brought our way.

As a African American I AM TIRED OF TBS AIRING THESE SITCOMS WITH A AFRICAN AMERICAN CAST IN A COMEDY.
TBS already airs “Amos and Andy” look-a-like programs produced by Tyler Perry and now here comes “Are We There Yet” produced by former guest on Seattle’s Music Inner City TV, Ice Cube.
Why is it we are doing these comedies with African Americans acting like clowns and buffoons?
What about a program or series with a African American cast IN A WEEKLY DRAMA!!! What about that readers? I will not watch one more minute of “Meet The Browns” and the other Perry produced shows.
It is flat out embarrasing to see these clowns so called acting like “colored folks” of “darkies” in the 1920′s Bill “Bojangles” Robinson, Steppin Fetchin type movies/programs.
Ice Cube has been on my show three times as a legendary rapper. I wish my brotha can produce a drama on TBS, instead of a ANOTHER comedy with a all African American cast. IT IS BADLY NEEDED IN MY STRONG OPINION!!!

As you know I have written my feelings on the sad story regarding Oscar winner Mo’Nique and the relationship with her brother Gerald.
And this is a sad story. I watched Mo’Nique’s brother on Oprah the other day and I was shocked at this program and the information that has come out for the world to know regarding Gerald’s sexual contacts with his sister when they were young.
Gerald said said all the normal stuff about being sorry etc. And Oprah asked tough questions to him. But what I took out of the show is this.
If you watched Mo’Nique get her Golden Globe and Critics Choice and Oscar Awards, she came off as a dynamic wonderful African American lady with a lot of opinions.
And if watch her program on BET, she is always giving advice etc. I think she needs to chill out with the advice and try to repair her relationship with her elderly mom and dad who also was on the Oprah show.
MoNique has not talked to her mom or dad IN YEARS!! I am sorry readers, NO MATTER WHAT she needs to stop trying to be Miss Goody Two Shoes with advice to all her guests and work on trying to repair her relationship with her mom and dad.
We were not their to see how Gerald made sexual contact with her sister how her parents handled it. But they did not know it happened.
And if Gerald told lies on Oprah, he was wrong. BUT Mo’Nique is wrong for not talking to her elderly parents. You only have one dad and one mom.
“Music Inner City Radio” every Friday night 10pm (Seattle time) 1150am KKNW (Seattle area and suburbs) And worldwide online!!! CLICK LINK BELOW TO LISTEN!!
This is a very very interesting story I just learned about at former guest on “Music Inner City TV” Oprah’s website.
Regarding the brother of Oscar winner comedian/actress Mo’Nique who admitted to molesting her when she was a young girl. This is a shame readers.
Can you imagine this cat keeping this inside of him for a long long time? And also for Mo’Nique to keep this inside of her for a long long time also. I know this was very very hard on the both of them.
As many of you know, Oprah has said she was also molested when she was younger so I guess Oprah can relate big time to Mo’Nique.
It will be very interesting to see what happens with this story and the relationship between Mon’Nique and her brother.

To many times we hear of negative stories concerning hip-hop and rap artists. To many times we read about rappers going to jail for different reasons like Lil Wayne, T.I and others. But here is a POSITIVE story.
Nas is going back to obtain his high school degree that he did not get when he was younger. This a very positive story.
He is saying to his fans and to youth all over that a high school education and a degree is important. And Nas is saying also that he is a role model and wants young inner city kids to take education serious and to go to school and get a education.
Yes we read stuff about Nas and his wife Kelis who is also a entertainer and their kind of nasty divorce in the news etc, but this story needs to be told too folks!!
As a OG in the music game, Nas is one of my favorite artists. Truth be told, he has not got the recognition he should get. Not to many cats can throw down lyrics like Nas. He tells a story about politics, relationships, life in the “hood” and more. Nas is a true hip-hop king!
Shout out to Nas for saying to kids, “Stay in school and get your education”.

Well it is about time. The #1 player in the world of golf Tiger Woods is returning to competition on the course at the 2010 Masters in April.
I know fans are happy, CBS, NBC, ESPN, ABC etc is happy, advertisers are happy.
If you are a golf fan, you are happy that Tiger is returning to play.
With Woods returning, that is more cash for everyone. No matter what you think about the problems of Tiger’s love life, one thing is for sure. He is the best golfer maybe in the history of the game and the game needs Tiger Woods.
Yes certain players on the tour blasted Tiger about his problems. Even a older legend like Tom Watson said some things about Tiger. But I am sure Tiger will make folks forget all that win he starts kicking their butt on the golf course and wins events just like before.
Commercials are running already on CBS about the Masters and the return of Tiger. When Tiger arrives at Augusta, it will be one of the biggest days in the history of sports on TV or TV period besides President Obama taking office.
I will be watching. Like I said before the only time I watch golf is when Tiger is near the lead and maybe John Daly. That’s it.
So welcome back Tiger. The sports world needs you and golf needs you. I hope Tiger learned from his huge mistakes and becomes a better man, a better husband and a better father.

This past Friday and Saturday rap legend Snoop Dogg was in the Seatown to perform at the Showbox Sodo. And I want to tell you my feelings as a vet in this music game.
First of all I tried like hell to obtain a one on one interview with Snoop via the phone or in person but again got nothing as far as a interview. The only time I have interviewed Snoop was at the B.E.T. Awards in L.A. a few years ago for a minute.
I will keep trying and maybe the Dogg will finally do a interview with us at Music Inner City TV and Music Inner City News Magazine. I have enough videos by Snoop to do a great program. A “Snoop Dogg Special”
Anyway, the Friday show was sold out. I was told by Snoop’s manangement that I was allowed to cover the Saturday show to write about it here at M.I.C News Magazine.
I got to the venue around 10:45pm because I was told Snoop would hit the stage around 11pm. But I know the game folks. If I was told 11pm, that meant midnight. I was right. The crowd waited for more than a hour before Snoop finally hit the stage. He hit the stage about 12:10am But before that, the crowd started to boo. Then the lights finally went down and the show started.
Snoop’s set started with a short film with Snoop from one of his movies etc. That lasted about a minute or so and then Snoop pimped on stage. The crowd went CRAZY!
By the way, there was people of all races and ages at the show. Even little kids, which I did not understand with all the language being used by Snoop. There was people from 12 to 60 in the crowd.
Snoop started to perform all of his hits from “What’s My Name” from earlier in his career to his recent hits “I Wanna Rock” and “Gangsta Luv” The crowd was jumping and dancing to all of his hits.
One thing for sure, their was plenty of folks in the crowd taping some of the show on their cell phones so most likley you can go to You Tube and see videos from the Seattle show. I was not one of them doing that.
Since I was told no for a interview with Snoop, I went to the show to watch it and review it for the thousands of you who visit our site. I knew I was going to watch a vet at work and that is what I saw.
Snoop along with a few of his homies like Daz and Kurupt put on a show done by vets in the rap game. The same thing happened when I went to shows by Ice Cube and DJ Quik. All three of them can perform hit after hit for their fans unlike young performers who have only a few hits in their bag.
I think everyone left the Showbox satisfied. It was a good performance by a cat who knows what he is doing on stage to satisfy his fans. A big shout out to big Snoop Dogg for his longevity in the music industry. Keep doing what ya doing SD!!
