“ONE MAN’S OPINION” by Gordon Curvey
Before I start this letter let me say I have a tremendous amount of respect for Rev Al Sharpton. He tackles issues that other African American leaders will not touch with a ten foot pole.
When he came to Seattle a few years ago, I was thrilled to interview him for my program. And happy he took time for our program.
Having said all that, I am really wondering why Rev. Sharpton and the National Action Network WILL NOT go after Fox News. Not go after Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly. Not go after their advertisers.
BUT Rev. Sharpton will jump in his ride and head down to Fox News Studios to be seen on TV over and over and over. The question is why?
Is it to be seen on national TV in his expensive suits?
Not only that, Rev. Sharpton will hop in his ride and go to the CNN studios and the studios of MSNBC to be on the air.
By the way none of these stations has African Americans on the air in prime time. NONE!!! None on Fox, none on MSNBC, none on CNN.
It has been this way since Bernie Shaw left CNN years ago. Why isn’t Rev. Sharpton and the National Action Network going after this stations in the hiring of African Americans during prime time?
But here is my main point of this letter readers. Sean Hannity spends 90% of his radio show on Fox Radio and his TV show “Hannity” bashing and blasting President Obama DAY AFTER DAY, but for some reason Rev Sharpton will not challenge Fox News and Hannity and go after their advertisers unless they change their treatment of our President.
DAY AFTER DAY, Hannity calls President Obama a “socialist” and most of the time Hannity and other hosts on Fox will not call President Obama President. It is Barack Obama or just Obama. BUT they will call President Bush or President Reagan, President.
But Rev. Sharpton will be on Hannity as well as O’Reilly at a drop of a hat. As will he appear on CNN and MSNBC time and time again.
As soon as he departs, the bashing and blasting and racist treatment of our President continues. It is like President Obama is not our President. It is first class racism led by Sean Hannity.
And away from Fox, radio hosts Laura Ingram and of course Rush, continue the racist and unfair treatment of President Obama. But not only those two, there are at least 2,000 conservative radio shows on the air in the US, blasting and bashing President Obama each and every day!!
But as soon as the NY Times comes out with the RACIST cartoon about our President, their is Rev Sharpton leading a march and threating to go after their advertisers etc.
Don’t get it twisted folks, I am 100% on Rev Sharpton’s side on this issue. Might of fact 1000%. That cartoon was one of the worst form of racism in the media I have EVER SEEN!!!
BUT, again where is Rev. Sharpton on this issue of Sean Hannity and Fox News and the RACIST treatment of President Obama?
When I tried to call in on his radio show “Keeping It Real” and ask Rev. Sharpton for a little time to get my points out, Rev. Sharpton quickly HUNG UP IN MY FACE!!!! The question is why did he do this?
When ever I bring this Fox issue to Rev. Sharpton, he QUICKLY hangs up or changes the subject. The question is why?
It leads me to believe that Rev. Sharpton does not want to go after Fox News and Hannity and O’Reilly because he wants to be seen on the their shows and others on CNN and MSNBC. What else can I think when I see Rev Sharpton quickly marching against the NY Times and the racist cartoon, BUT he and National Action Network will not go after Hannity and Fox who is throwing down pure and stright up racism against President Obama and the African American community as well other black leaders EACH AND EVERY DAY!!! Including racism comments ABOUT REV. SHARPTON!!!
I don’t understand. IF I had the name of a Rev. Sharpton and power of his organization, I would lead the protest against Hannity and Fox. But I don’t.
So readers, I try not to use this site to bash African Americans, but after Rev. Sharpton hung up in face on his radio show, I said I have to use my platform to voice my concerns.
In my strong opinion, it is time for Rev. Sharpton as well as Rev. Jesse Jackson and other civil rights leaders to call for a major protest against Fox News and Sean Hannity’s radio and TV shows as well as radio hosts Lura Ingram about there racist and unfair treatment of President Obama. It is time to go after conservative radio and TV shows!!
Their treatment of our President goes over the line of the so called “freedom of speech” crap. IT IS RACISM!! Pure and simple!!
And African American radio hosts like Warren Balintine and Joe Madison and Cliff Kelly need to join in this protest. And guys like Tavis Smiley needs to join in. He is having a major event next week. It will be all on C-SPAN. It would be a great place to start the protest against Hannity and Fox News. and conservative radio and TV shows!!
Finally, in my opinion, I think if the racist treatment of President Obama continues on Fox News and Hannity shows and other conservative radio and TV shows continue, it will enrage and charge up more racists like the guy who wrote that cartoon about our President, more members of the KKK and other hate groups and someone will try to kill our great President.
This is why IT IS TIME TO ACT AGAINST HANNITY AND FOX NEWS!! This cartoon is like ONE BRANCH ON A BIG RACIST TREE. Rev. Sharpton can march against this NY Times branch of the tree, but the rest of the tree is still standing.
